is anyone else glad we have no major boxing on tv sat night?

i know this is a strange question on a boxing forum. Normally I would be one who would be campaining for as much boxing on tv that is possible. i never thought i would be saying this. but we had 13 hours of boxing last saturday. we have another triple header on saturday week. Last Saturday night really messed up my sleep patterns for the next few days. i dont think i would be able for 3 major weekends in a row. i know we have a good friday fight night and we have herbie hide on eurosport on friday. i am kind of glad we have no live boxing from the us on tv on saturday night. there is 2 hours of boxing on itv4 on saturday night. one hour is the big fight review with a tribute to reg gutteridge and then there is big fights greatest knockouts from 8.15 until 9.15.

between the boxing on friday night and itv on saturday night that will keep me going for this weekend i reckon and im kind of glad there is no live late night boxing this weekend baring in mind next weekend is going to be overloaded again.

i just think there is enough coverage this weekend between friday night and the itv stuff saturday night. having said all that i would not be complaining if the kirkland bill was on tv saturday night. i might be on my own here but i am kind of relieved i wont up up until the early hours on sunday morning. maybe 13 hours was just a little too much last weekend and i am glad it wont be as action packed this weekend considering next weekend is another triple header. i would propably be saying none of this if there was not a triple header next weekend.

Back on topic it doesn't really bother me, I very rarely watch the late night stuff(which is usually repeated next morning/afternoon) or Box Office(especially when it's shown for feck all within a week) unless it's a massive fight like Hatton v Mayweather for example.

Just avoid the internet and watch the repeats the next day. I only stay awake if it's a huge fight, but the rest I'll just watch Sunday.

let me clarify my comments.

firstly last saturday night / sunday morning i watched boxing from 7.45 saturday evening until 8am sunday morning. thats 12 hours straight. in hindsight that was not the wisiest thing to do. my comments were propably an over-reaction to that. i know most of you would have taped some of the boxing and watched it on the sunday. maybe i will plan it that way next time. my sky + plus was low on space (it always is) and i had no choice really but to watch one after the other. i quite frankly would not be able to do what i did last weekend , every weekend.

of course i would love the kirkland bill to be on tv - it was me who spread around that setanta survey a few weeks ago asking them for more boxing. maybe that helped us get marquez v diaz.
i want as much boxing on tv as possible. im just saying if there was one weekend where we dont have live american boxing im kind of relieved its this weekend in view of all the boxing we had last weekend and next weekend.

one of my faults is when there is boxing on during the night is that i am not able to sleep and feel i have to watch it live. im glad i caught the live version of the olympians as i understand sky cut the last 3 rounds of skelton v rogan on their repeats and some people had to wait 5 days to see the last 3 rounds on the bbc.

maybe in a roundabout way i am complaining about having 2 domestic bills on the same saturday twice in 3 weeks when there is saturdays available either side of it. i think its lousy that we get overloaded with boxing some weekends and then have hardly any on other weekends.

and on the opening title , i would not say i am happy or glad but more relieved but relieved would not fit in.

if i have further dug my own grave so be it , if my opinion makes me less of a fan so be it. but everyone has an opinion and if no one sees my side then so be it. the world and this forum would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything.

and for those criticizing me and this thread, how many of you watched the 12 or 13 hours straight through last saturday night. unless you did you not going to see where i am coming from anyway and your not in a position to judge it. i watch any boxing that is on tv (even the fights that look like being crap beforehand). like i said earlier i watch everything live or as close to live as i can (like last saturday) but maybe after watching 12 hours straight i was a little boxed out and needed a break.

my title is wrong as well , i would much have preferred one of last weeks domestic bills to have been on this week rather than last week.
