good luck Darren and really looking forward to seeing you fight again do you feel at your best weight will be at supper middle or Light heavy? once again looking forward to the fight and all the best.

I think im definitely a solid super middleweight.. Would struggle big time making 11st 6lbs.. I think light heavy may be a move later in my career. My goal is reach top of the super middles first like what Calzaghe and my fav Roy did..
Even though im very eager, There is no rush.. I think fact i look after my self, (dont drink etc) that i can fight well into my 30's.. Advances in sports science etc means fighters have longer career.. I dont wanna be a flash in the pan.. So really wanna learn the game and become a seasoned pro in time.

Boxrec have Siarhei Navarka as the opponent, from Belarus. Not won since 2005, lost 18 in a row and apparantly coming in at short notice, but he has boxed in good company around central and Eastern Europe.

I can see Darren stopping this guy in round two.

Not coming in at short notice has been booked for over 5 weeks this can be verified by checking boxers applications and has been picked for the following reasons.

Has had a number of fights in good company and though is a loser has shown to be very durable. Building a prospect up is not all about wars in the early stages. If we were to listen to you guys on this forum none of our prospects would never get beat they would be in wars from Day 1. Before you become a tradesman you have to serve at least a 3 year apprentiship.

A boxer turning over has to serve some learning time but not 3 years, I belive Sutherland will be ready for titles within 18 months.

Just a note to all you so called experts Sutherland is not too old at 26 he has not been boxing along as the other Olympians.

Judge his career in 18 months to 2 years time

Very impressed with Sutherland last night, well done on the win. Loved some of the combinations he put together. Agree with the oithers that he looks the most promising of the new breed.

Two things i noted from last night though, his elbows appear to me to be quite wide leaving hmself a bit exposed, nothing major, just slightly. Also, when against the ropes soaking up a bit of pressure in the second round, i noticed he was standing there taking shots which is fine as he wasn't in any danger, but he didn't seem to be looking at where they were coming from, then i would have liked to have seen him box and move his way out of the ropes a bit more assertively.

All in all though, very impressed and seems like a sound guy to go with it, unlike some of the gobshites around at the mo.

Another good performance on Friday Darren, you are really looking solid as a pro and the lad barely got a punch on you despite him being quite game and trying to press you.

As for Frank, I'd say calm down chief, Darren is clearly a very intelligent lad and him coming on here has converted me and many others into a bigger fan of the lad, so I think he's fine doing his talking for himself!! Everything on this thread has been positive, I know it must be annoying reading things like people saying the opponent was brought in at late notice if he wasn't, but just clearing that up would have sufficed, you had a bit of a rant there geezer. lol.

Thought Darren looked great the other night.
A very good kid, lots of potential and a great attitude.
He looked so accomplished and relaxed in there and was just taking his time and picking his shots., game opponent too, kept coming on trying to put the pressure on.

looks like darren might be back out in dublin in may sometime according to this article on the setanta website. also says he will be boxing 4 or maybe 5 more times this year which seems bang on schedule when it was said he would have 6 fights this year.
