Being ok on the ground won't get him anywhere in MMA, some of the guys there are unbelievable.

he just needs to be able to look after himself on the ground....
....MMA is a highly skilled sport, but these guys haven't been doing it since the age of 8......generally, they come from a specialied background first and then adapt and add to their skills in for MMA........Enzo would have to do the same....as much as he may be uncomfortable on his back, there are a lot of guys who are just as much, or even more of a liability standing up.
it is fascinating because it hasn't happened before with a world class boxer who is at or near his peak. Ju-Jitsu specialists, Wrestlers etc... come to MMA because their own sports don't generate the same financial incentive. With boxers, that is not the case...

Also he'll need to learn some Muay Thai too. Being able to kick, knee and elbow proficiently takes a long time to get right. Just like you can't learn to box overnight - it takes years of training. My mate had been doing Muay Thai training for a couple of years on and off I think. He had his first interclub fight a few months back and I have to be honest he was pretty pants. Chin in the air etc.. Thats no dis-respect to him, he fought like a novice which is what he is essentially, even after 2 years training. If Enzo does MMA he will be a novice too. But the difference is he won't get time to learn his trade. In MMA they move you fast. Once he steps up to a certain level he'll be found wanting badly.
He should stick to boxing, he is good at it and he'd give anyone at the weight a good fight. All this talk of MMA has come from frustration at his own boxing career IMO. He should have had more big fights with top names by now but instead he really has only two top names on his ledger: Braithwaite and Haye. And you could even argue Braithwaite was/is past his best. Okay he came up short against Haye but he could have easily beaten guys like Kelvin Davis(a few years back when he was highly rated and IBF champ), Firat Arslan ,Felix Cora, Darnell Wilson and maybe even Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and Cunningham. Instead he got: Bobby Gunn and Azzizao(?). Its a typical "WBO" career IMO. What a waste. I say screw the WBO and chase a fight with Adamek, Jones or the Krzysztof Wlodarczyk-Fragomeni winner. The crusierweight division is there for the taking.
