Yes Sligo your right there, it was brilliant, really liked it. Thought Breen and all his boxers came across really well.
To my uneducated eye it seems that Belfast (or at least the northern counties) is the home of Pro Boxing in Ireland.
When you see the Pink Panther (Jim Rock) and Bernard Dunne travelling up north to train, I often scratch my head and think why isn’t there any pro trainers in Dublin???
But yes great little documentary and I reckon the Breen gym have a bright future with all the talent there….

I asked Jim Rock why there aint one in Dublin and he said there wouldnt be the demand. I was a little shocked at that answer tbh.
Re: The Breen Team documentary
Its not the only Pro gym in Ireland, theres another one in Belfast too.
Though all of Hawkins boys (Holy Trinty Ama turned Pros) tend to go to Breens as well as HT.

I thought it was the only one that trains pros only.Gareth wrote:Its not the only Pro gym in Ireland, theres another one in Belfast too.

Plenty train both but I thought this was the only one that solely does pros

Great stuff - cheers for the link!
Really good to see Hoko there briefly - he was such a quality, exciting fighter. He rarely gets a mention anymore but I used to love to watch him tear it up.
Breen is a credit to the sport. Looks like he has a really good atmosphere and team spirit in that gym too

Re: The Breen Team documentary
John Breen is a top trainer. He once fought Sibbo, you know.
Re: The Breen Team documentary
Yeah Sligo your right, I hadn't watched the docu yet when I posted. It is the only Pro only gym in Ireland.
Re: The Breen Team documentary
The gyms one Hot Shithole
. But whats in it are a bunch of Diamonds love it there
Re: The Breen Team documentary
It's hot, hot, hot in there - someone open a window! No wonder they're all fit as fiddles. Breen does a top job with Eamonn Magee as his right hand man.

34 minutes is an odd length but it's not a criticism I enjoyed it.

Re: The Breen Team documentary
Maybe it's the directors cut.
Very enjoyable. I thought it was brave of them to plan to end the feelgood documentary on Rogan v Skelton as that seemed to be a foregone conclusion. Maybe they filmed it on the off chance but only added it after the win explaining the extra 4 minutes.
God, i haven't seen Hoko in forever.
