Sorry, what I meant is fighting for a world title isn't an achievement.... its an honour but not an achievement - winning it is an achievement. Fighting for a world title doesn't mean you are a level above someone who has won domestic honours.
If Howard Clarke made a comeback and entered prizefighter - would he be the best ever contestant?
I don't mean to diss Sinclair, who was a good European Level fighter - but so was Oakey and Bami. Sinclairs finest achievement was winning the British title.

To my knowledge all you need to do is rent out the York Hall for a night, ask 8 boxers if they want to earn a few quid (er, I bet that's hard!)...give Sky a call and ask them if they're interested in making a few quid, do a bit of promo, tell people it's the best thing ever and take a nice slice of the profits. I bet I could have done that, someone please tell me if there's a lot more to it??

well why diddnt you do it then if it.s thats easy
cos it's a lot of time and probably a good bit of initial financial outlay and he's likely got more money than me and more time whereas I do a full time job.
I do take your point and if u read the actual thread I said I take my hat off to anyone that can produce the sponduliks so no need for the POINTLESS symbol.

I'm glad someone remembers that fight. Most ppl seem to have forgotten it. I read about it in a late 90s Boxing News issue - they called it one of the fights of the year. I finally got it on DVD a couple of weeks ago. Amazing fight.

Mark was a great puncher, I filmed most of his fights, he had a great battle with leonzer barber in brighton,, both bashed each other, and had a good following in south London,
I called Mark 'Mr Excitment' , he used to be promoted by Anthoney Gee, happy memories.......
and yeah it was his son that was stabbed a few years ago, has been given help by noel edmunds tv show, to prevent knife crime.
Mark was trained by an old friend of mine, Carley Carew, went to a few of his fights good value for money. He would have given Clinton Woods a decent fight.

Dariusz boxed under the German flag for most of his career, was a German citizen and made millions from Germany as a consequence.
For him to get upset if someone called him German would be ridiculous...... cake and eating it springs to mind

I dont know if he is still training fighters but he knew his stuff and was one of boxings nice guys.

On a show that contained numerous fighters banned by the board and shouldn't have been allowed to take place, regardless of what some pricks in Brussels say.
