I packed in drinking over 10 years ago now and found that it bothered everbody else more than it did me. People seem to think there's something wrong with you if you don't have a drink in your hand. It's such a part of the social fabric in this country - it's sad that more people can't enjoy a night out with friends without getting bladdered. That's not intended to sound 'holier than thou', I just think it's a shame that for many people they aren't able to go out and enjoy themselves without getting completely sh1t-faced.

I know what you mean....people react to you oddly if you don't drink. I have tried to stop but then seem my social life dry up.

Good luck to Pryce. Going by the article, it seems Pryce does want to make a big change to his life so I hope he sticks to it & is successful.

It seems like Pryce & Enzo Calzaghe work well together & its nice to hear Enzo made Bradley see sense.

Pryce has potential, so for it to be ruined by alcohol at this stage would be a shame!

Any of you guys leaning towards Hall or Pryce. Looked at both guys records and fights, an cant pick a clear winner... Only thing is Pryce as boxed twelve on a regular basis were as Hall hasnt..

Good on the lad I say. Plenty of people out there just carry on drinking and don't want to recognise it as a problem in their life so they just carry on.

As others have mentioned in this thread, the culture of this country makes it so that it is perfectly acceptable to be like this and you are actually seen as different only if you choose to step away from that way of living.

This is gona come across all alcoholics anonymous now, but I'm 27 and for the last 7 years have just drank like everyone else does, but about 6 months ago I realised what a detrimental effect it was having in all areas of my life and how I was more snappy and always run down feeling bad cos of alcohol. It seemed to change from when I was younger in the effect it was having on me.

So anyways yeh I've cut it out completely, every now and again (as in once in 6 months) I will have a few pints and I enjoy it so much more. For me the culture in this country is so wrong and encourages alcohol abuse. I think it has a detrimental effect on many people's lives and more people need to be big enough and strong enough to say no.

SO there ya go! As for the fight, I feel Pryce has a better all round game than Hall, Hall is a short, stocky guy at the weight and I feel Pryce has the skills to negate Hall in all areas. However Hall does deliver a wicked body shot so he's in with a chance, should be a little cracker.

Very true, all things in moderation and you are fine. Lives are ruined by drugs and alcohol.

looks like Bradders gets himself into a bit of bother. Slightly surprising given that he achieved some decent success and defences, so you would have thought that the success would have spurred him on, regular decent paychecks etc...and maybe even ended up getting a Jennings type shot at one of the big boys.

I would have tipped Pryce, impressed as I was by the way he got past Duran and then walloped Conception, however , the lad Hall can seriously crack and he's appeared focused of late, whereas Pryce has had one fight in something like 15 months according to the article, and he said himself he would have preferred a warm up.

Is this title vacant?? If not, how has Pryce kept it while boxing so infrequently?

I went for Pryce TKO 11 in the predictions, but given the above I think it could easily go either way.

I've cut back on the booze lately and as a result found myself the designated driver more often than not. I've found I can enjoy a night out without drinking at all, the problem for me is not actually missing the booze per say, it's the complete lack of alternatives to alcohol in the pubs.
Can only drink so much coke or lemonade before you want to be sick, same goes for them J20 things. Couple of them and your throat feels like you've been drinking battery acid. Non alcoholic lager is just rank, so it doesn't leave much to go with.
Feel much better for cutting back on the booze though, definitely helps improve the fitness and just feel better and happier all round. Will do Pryce the world of good

I have found Becks non alcohol pretty good . Expensive though, costs more than regular Becks. The reason it costs more is because its made in the normal way and then an extra process is used to remove the alcohol. I like J2O before a meal being a smoker but I couldnt drink it all night. Lemonade is too sweet, I never liked it, even as a boy. Coke to me is a horrible drink, it would take me all night to drink half a pint.I agree its pretty hard to find a drink in a pub that doesnt contain alcohol. Something should be done to produce a good non alcohol drink that people would enjoy. The problem is cost and low demand so thats unlikely to happen.

it is amazing how much better you can feel form cutting out or down on the drink. I'm lucky that here in Spain the Non-Alcohol beer is pretty good. I own a bar and found it quite hard at first to talk to drunken morons sober when i first quit, but have managed to solve that problem now by employing more staff.
Very true Mark. If you are the driver and stay sober, you go out with intelligent people and come back with a bunch of twats. Its pretty hard talking to abusive people with puddled brains when you are sober.

Get on the blackcurrant and soda. Well cheap and if the pub has a decent blackcurrant like Schweppes or something it’s pretty decent. Got drinking it while working as a bouncer because we weren’t allowed free coke or lemonade.

Sounds OK must try it. When I was a bouncer mates used to offer to put a pint in the cloakroom (away from the managers eyes). I always refused, that way I survived.

I must admit between 18-25 I caned it on the lager.

Now in my early 30s and love the fact that I now only have a session probably once every 6/8 weeks and go weeks and weeks without having a beer.

Makes it a much better night out when you do it once in a while.

Have done 3 half marathons since I cut back and find I can eat pretty much what I want and not put on weight

Dear me how old do we all sound!!!
