It seems that Alex Arthur is going to have to wait even longer to get another pop at the British title he seems to think it is his divine right to win back, despite the fact hes done nothing since Gomez spanked him.

He wanted to fight for it in September but since hes likely to fight Craig Docherty for it and Docherty is fighting for the European title in September then obviously this isnt going to happen.

At least it looks like the Board of Control wont sanction his next fight as being for the british title.

Instead he's tempted us lucky lucky Edinburgh punters with the mouthwatering prospect of putting his IBF continental title on the line against a selected opponent. this he says should ensure "the edinburgh fans wont really lose out"

Personally i reckon Craig Docherty is more deserving of a rematch with Gomez than Arthur. Docherty is on a pretty decent winning streak whereas all we hear from Arthur is a lot of talk.

Completely agree, Docherty is a COMPLETELY different fighter than the guy who Gomez beat a few years ago. I'm not sure if Arthur is. I think Gomez could take Dochety lightly, and I actually like the upset here.

I would like to see Docherty smack Arthur about first Arthur is way to smug and up his own arse for my liking.
