MAB seems really up for this and after seeing the piece on FFN last friday about his training camp i fear for Amir.

me too - before the segment had finished I put a bet on MAB in rounds 1-3

I think Freddie knows deep down Khan has no chance against Barrera. All this talk of 'If Khan loses he'll have to go out and get a job' and 'If he's there to get hit I'll get really mad' - all reveal an underlying lack of confidence in his fighter.

Iv'e gone for Barrera by T.K.O in the 6th. I initially thought that Khan may cause Barrera some trouble with his quick hands, aswell as the fact that he will be the bigger fighter, but then i told myself the following. Barrera put up good performances against Pacquiao and Marquez quite recently and would i consider Barrera at 35 years of age a better fighter than Limond and Gomez, two smaller fighters who put Khan down and gave him problems.......The answer was yes !!

Hence my decision to go with Barrera, along with other things such as Barrera trying to go for four world titles and not wanting to lose to someone like Khan. If Khan has any chance, then he needs to look for an early finish, because the fight goes to Barrera from the 4th round onwards and i can only really see Khan winning, if Barrera is plain shot or some dodgy deal has been done, ala Kinderlan, bit i can't see it

the one reason i am hoping why khan loses is that we might then get to see him against the likes of thaxton and murray.

im really in two minds about this fight though. ive predicted khan to win but by the day i am getting more doubtful on it.

I find it intrguing that of the people who are picking Khan, most are saying 'Because he is too big and strong for his smaller opponent'.

What these people aren't taking into account is that Khan isn't a physically imposing fighter. Guys like Kostya Tzsyu, JCC, Duran, even someone like Scott Harrison were imposing fighters whose ring generalship, physical strength and pressure just forced opponents onto the back foot and gave them little time. Khan just isn't that type of guy - when he does come forward he doesn't have the frame or toughness to physically press the fight, making the size and weight argument totally redundant.

Barrera clearly has all the 'strength' advantages in this one as he is such an adaptable fighter; he can dictate the contest, stand off, come forward, because he has everything Khan lacks.

i got a feeling Khan will do a lot of amatuer type of moving in and out of range trying to pick up rounds. MAB has looked a lot slower around the ring over the last couple of years and i think an "in and out on his bike" game plan may work. Of course it would be boring as fuk to watch but it could work as the difference in reach is huge, so Amir just keep him at range and bobs your uncle its simple really

as the fight gets closer i have to agree with you but i'm sticking with Khan UD as i it stuck down in the prediction league and if it comes off i will look like the boxing oracle.[/quote]

Ps On a more serious note, it was suprising to hear Roach say that if Khan can't beat Barrera, he might as well look for a job. That suprised me, because even if he thought that, surely it would have been better to keep his mouth shut, unless he dismisses Barrera so much, it's a way of boosting Khan's confidence. Don't forget, When Roach was Tyson's trainer, he came out with loads of bull about how Mike was back to his best blah de blah and it all came to nothing as Tyson loked progressively worse in each fight. Also it is slightly worrying on Khan's part, when he says "Even Freddie thinks i can beat him...." That strikes me as a guy who is'nt too sure of himself and is looking for some reasurance that things will be ok.

I feel Khan will keep the fight at range and bob in and out. That said I dont think he will be able to resist getting involved during the mid rounds. MAB will then double KO him. One to the body and one to the head, that should keep him down.

I too went for Khan to get a win over MAB in a similar fashion as his win over St.Clair.

But I now see a Barrera win, its been said before about how a washed up s-feather Michael Gomez had him down and wasn’t blasted out of there even though he took many flush shots - so even a washed up MAB is a few levels above that.

A lot of the interviews I’ve read on Khan discussing the fight have centred around him finishing off MAB once and for all, so he expects him to be shop worn … how will Khan react if MAB isn’t??

I changed my prediction at the last minute to a MAB win, I see Khan stealing some rounds with his quick hands, but I see MAB scoring a few knockdowns to secure a points win ..

I've picked Khan to win, though got to admit I'm not certain by a long shot, not with that dodgy chin of his.
But the trouble with lumping on Barrera, is that cut eye. He's going to have tired old skin these days, and I really wonder if that cut has fully healed. Seriously doubt it has.

Amir has mentioned Oscar/Chavez as a parallel, and funnily enough, I think Chavez went into that one with a not fully healed cut eye.
