Next for Jamie Moore?

After last Friday's win over Piccirillo, I think many of us are pleased for Jamie Moore. He had to wait a long time for that title shot. The win will have moved him up the WBC ratings as well. Mooresy's been in 2 of the best ever British fights (Macklin, Jones 3) and hopefully he wins a world title.

Anyway, I'm sure most of us can't wait for the next fight, after that display of breaking an opponent down. This was the clinical, punch perfect Moore of the 1st Michael Jones fight and the beatdowns of Dave Walker & Gary Logan. The double left hand is there again.

Will Jamie build an irish following, defending his EBU belt in Ireland / or vs an Irish fighter?
Will he fight WBC International champ Rhodes, for the Brits (and for improved WBC rating)?
Will he get to America and fight some of those exciting, raw WBC ranked sluggers like Kirkland, Angulo or whoever, to get in there with HBO?

I say Duddy or James Moore ( especially James Moore)

Must be lots of cash in that one and will enhance rep more in the US etc.

Main thing is keep active AND get only meaningful fights, fights that enhance and earn da cheddar ( cash!)!

I expect him to go option 1, to give Sutherland the chance to box on the undercard in his home town.

That could be a bit confusing, Jamie Moore vs James Moore! If they fight, I hope they wear different shorts.

Just wait - Duddy v Chavez Jr with winner to face Forrest. Forrest has been cashing in a bit recently with the 2 Mora fights.

As someone mentioned, the doubling up of the left hand from the southpaw stance looked effortless from Moore. Impressive performance from him - very sharp and controlled.

I can't see Duddy or Kirkland taking a fight with Moore when they have their own route to a title marked out, maybe a voluntary defence of his Euro title first and then maybe a fight with Bundrage or Mora to get some exposure stateside.

No way will Chavez Jr get in with Jamie Moore.

I think I said somewhere in another post that with Forrest and Martinez going to purse bid and Angulo and Mayorga recently falling through, there's a good chance that Moore could be involved in the next WBC mandatory eliminator maybe sometime near the end of 2009. Especially as the EBU belt gets you a top 5 WBC ranking.

As for his very next move, I can't see any of the guys above him in the WBC rankings facing him voluntarily, too risky, so he should just keep facing the EBU's top challengers, there are some good tests for him there and eventually he'll get his chance. It worked for Jackson Bonsu at welterweight, I see no reason why it can't work for Jamie as well!

Very good chance, Charlie Giles holds a lot of sway at the WBC now. It was him that got Haye and Froch put up to No1 in the rankings. Martinez has, of course, been to Britain twice before.

Martinez looks a bit hesistant vs a tall opponent, with a jab, who doesn't just walk in (Cintron). I'm thinking Forrest will beat Martinez, unless Martinez can land a quick reflex counter and stun Forrest. Here's hoping Forrest defends his title, as he is a classy (and for my money vulnerable) operator who can pass some credibility on to a hungry contender.

Would be interesting if it ends up being Moore v Martinez for the WBC title. A fight that seemed a natural a few years ago.

The Mayorga fight would be beauty to watch I'd be happy to see him fight the winner of Rhodes Vs Small (Rhodes IMO)

I think Rhodes has too much for small.

Personally i'd rather they both went for title shots, rather than each other.

Kirkland would be a good fight.

He has tremendous koudos from knocking out Joel Julio.

i think jamie should fight rodes and then maybe get a few more fights.then go for a world title fight later next year. hes worked so hard and made his name from boxing not from a sliver or gold medal .i think he deserves it .
