LOL. yep it is. nah i thinks its a bad move on team khans end though. they took the PPV thing to soon. i think he should have stuck with ITV. more viewers.more coverage.
if he looses against MAB then its a taxi for khan :>

Judging by last week's fight both Diaz and Marquez would KO him....
But I still fancy Khan to become a world champion.

the lad is 5'10" and fighting at 135lbs, can't see him going on at this weight forever. In 3 years he will be at 140 at least and his speed will be outdone by power. He will still be young but there are loads of LWW who will be less 30-35 and capable of schooling Amir.
Some may say he ran onto Prescott punch but being put down by Gomez didn't look good.
Less hype and more boxing, roll on Saturday, MAB may be old but last 2 loss are 12 rounders against world champions.

yeah soon as the first bell went .Diaz was on to marquez thorwing combination of punches towards him though.
if Diaz was to ever fight khan then i can see diaz winning by a ko in round 2 -3.Diaz is too smart for khan and so is marquez. khan has not fought anyone in the top ten LW figthers in the world yet.
Isn`t Valero at lightweight now .. that spells disaster faster than the Prescott mauling
And Guzman is there also? .. the Peterson brother ... there will be many genuine lightweights with a decent punch that will stop Khan ever reaching the mythical p4p ... unless you mean the top 10 p4p in the Amir Khan household?

WBF?
come on be fair he's a good fighter with a dodgy chin....there are worse fighters to have become world champions, especially at WBO level
I see what PN is saying. Let's not forget many experts said Haye was going nowhere after being dropped by Mock and stopped by Thompson. Haye ended up being a unified cruiserweight world champ. If he has lost out on the Wlad shot, Wlad also doesn't have an opponent now.
Khan - like Haye - seems to have buckled down with the training. Not to say that Oliver Harrison wasn't right for him - we've seen the superb boxing that Harrison can bring out of a fighter - but Khan has gone to America, got the sparring, and it would seem submitted himself fully to Roach's regime. So he has the sparring, the training. He has the profile, and he has the promoter who knows something about good timing/getting right fights at the right time.
The minuses obviously are the chin, which could gey blasted out any time. And the money - to get the PPV money he has to up the level of comp, hence Barrera. He'll want more and more money and the stakes will be higher. The fights potentially more dangerous and the likelihood of getting stopped greater. Though perhaps if he beats MAB they can milk that for a few fights.
Haye was rehabilitated well. He was put in some dangerous situations and went through a good cut check to get his title shot. I would love to see Khan hurt by someone in his prime, well prepared for the fight, and see Khan overcome the crisis. We need to see that kind of thing to have any certainty. (And I don't mean getting up to beat Limond).
but haye was a dynamite puncher. Khan doesn't have that equaliser - how many times did he hit that danish pastry clean before he even thought about going down? Michael Gomez ditto? This shot Gomez certainly didn't look discouraged by all the shots he was catching.
So what if Khan has 'buckled down'. The fact remains that the guy has no truly effective weapons at the highest level. Speed isn't effective without either power or the ability to go the distance and use that speed to land more shots while being evasive and winning points decision. Khan doesn't have either capability.
LOL. yeah he has one dodgy chin .i think khan has taken the PPV too soon .i guess the prescott fight was worth the money though. hatton even mensioned it though .that khan has taken the PPV too soon. he wil have to face all the top figthers at LW. he will get ko'd unless he moves up a weight.?

He has power, ask Earl. He has great handspeed, a lot of boxing ability and great footwork.
I agree that defensively but come on mate, he's not a total write-off - surely?

Sure....... how much were you thinking off betting? I'll take as much as you can stake, and as for him becoming a two weight champ (WBC, WBA, IBF) i'll even let you choose your own odds DD
Captain Hook wrote:Yeah but he's probably got a good 7/8 years left of his career....Marquez is 35 etc.
I agree he'd struggle against the top names though, and to be a proper champion you should beat the best, or at least give it a good go.
Not wait for them to age....and retire
i dont think it'd be khans fault if he didnt get to fight marquez, marquez like you say is 35 and probably wint have many more fights, especially against someone who isnt going to give him a massive pay day
If Khan beats Barrera (which I doubt) then I'm sure the money for a Marquez fight would be huge.

true, but i think marquez will move up, whats a fight with khan really worth? he could easilly pick up a belt at 140 and become the first 4 weight mexican world champion.
I'm not saying it's worth anything in terms of legacy, just that he'd make a fortune
I dont think Khan will get past MAB, but I wouldn't write him off against anyone. That includes Diaz and Marquez.
To have been thrown in there with MAB, Khan must have been showing Roach something pretty special. There are other opponents out there who could have validated the need for PPV, with a much lower risk attached.

yeah it would generate alot of money .but Marquez will take khan back to boxing skool .he would get ko'd big time.
