Len Harvey and Jock McAvoy meet for the British Light Heavyweight Title and Vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) Light Heavyweight Title

A crowd of 90,000 at the White City Stadium, London saw Harvey finish strongly to take the decision aftre he had been floored by McAvoy in the second round.... Surviving a terrific beating in the fourteenth round, Harvey caught McAvoy in his corner in the final round and beat him badly with a series of hard right crosses

Harvey was born on the 11th July 1907, so tomorrow marks the 97th anniversary of his birth

Is this Britain's biggest ever live boxing audience, Kev? I know that nearly 40,000 were at Bruno-Witherspoon and that was the biggest for donkeys years.

I would have thought so not 100% sure, what about Wembley that used to hold 100,000 for football, any big boxing events at the stadium?

White City Stadium was knocked down and is where the BBC's headquarters are

yeah, it is the biggest attendance for a british fight but i thought the number was 82, 000.
