Wayne Alexander to be trained by John Breen

Exciting puncher Wayne Alexander has turned to John Breen to help him win the biggest fight of his career. The former European light-middleweight champion has based himself at Breen's Gym in Belfast, as he counts down to a showdown with Takaloo in September.
"I came to John on allegedly's recommendation and I'll be basing myself from now in Belfast for my fights," explained Alexander.
Since turning professional, the 1994 ABA champion from Croydon had worked with veteran coach Jimmy Tibbs but with bitter rival Takaloo on the horizon, he decided the time was right for a change.
Alexander, 31 later this month, said: "Takaloo and I sparred together when we started out as professionals because we were in the same gym, but after he lost a fight he left Jimmy.
"Once he did that he started to say how he had knocked me out in sparring but that's not true. He had me down once, for sure but the next session I gave him a going over and Jimmy had to stop the spar.
"It's going to be an exciting fight while it lasts and I felt that I had to get out of London, away from the usual distractions to get myself fully prepared.
"This is really a make or break fight for me because I just cannot afford to lose it. Win and I'll be back on course for even bigger fights.
"I've only been here a week but I like the atmosphere in the gym though the heat has been hard to get used to but I'm already learning and I'm confident that John will be good for me. That's no disrespect to Jimmy because he did a great job with me, I just needed a change and a break from London."

I watched wayne at york hall against howard clarke a few months ago, to be fair to him he looked very jaded, i wish a few more fighters would upo sticks a go away from all the distractions, lets hope we see a new wayne.

ye i agree wayne is a good fighter and freind of mine i think hes always had the ability to be up there with some of the big names but has just fell short maybe getting away will sort his head out i hope it does cause i think its the last chance saloon for him i wish him all the best.
