My cousin works at MGM and is able to get tickets on the final day of sale for like 10 bucks if the event isn't totally sold out. Kind of an employee perk I suppose.

Carl Froch's WBC super-middleweight title defence against Jermain Taylor has been confirmed for April 25.

The fight will take place in Mashantucket, Connecticut, when Froch will get the chance to fight in front of an American audience for only the second time.

The 31-year-old from Nottingham, who claimed the title with a thrilling win over Jean Pascal just before Christmas, remains unbeaten as a professional.

However, that record is sure to come under serious pressure from Taylor, a former undisputed world champion at middleweight.

The fight will receive top TV coverage in the United States from Showtime, whose senior vice president Ken Hershman confirmed the details on Tuesday.

"Jermain Taylor is a great fighter and I am excited to have him make his Showtime debut on April 25," said Hershman.

"He's the more accomplished fighter and the better-known guy right now, but in Froch, he's facing the naturally bigger fighter and a man that has never lost."

He added: "The 168lbs weight division is one of the deepest and most exciting in boxing. Froch-Taylor is just one of many compelling match-ups that this division has to offer."

In what appears to be a dig at the recently-retired Joe Calzaghe, Froch's promoter Mick Hennessy said: "This isn't a case of a young fighter on the way up taking advantage of a big name on the way out or two old timers cashing out with a big payday - this is a real fight.

"You've got two of the world's finest fighters, both at the peak of their powers and out to prove that they are amongst the best pound for pound fighters in the world."

Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella meanwhile expects his man to prevail.

"I expect fireworks in this match-up," he said.

"There is an aggressive, straight-ahead, rugged champion fighting a seasoned athletic warrior. It is a can't-miss fight and the title will change hands."

It's been suggested the winner of Froch-Taylor will get a chance to add the IBF belt to their CV by fighting the winner of this Friday's title fight between Lucian Bute and Fulgencio Zuniga.

Taylor (28-2-1, 17 KOs) is the only fighter to have beaten the great Bernard Hopkins twice. His only two defeats came at the hands of Kelly Pavlik, who ended his reign as world middleweight champ.

The 30-year-old set up his meeting with Froch by beating former champion Jeff Lacy in a final eliminator in November.
