I dont agree whether you like it or not their resume's are fairly close in comparison.

Who takes more risks what fight Mayweather or Gomez / jennings?
If you wanna continue to be daft on this issue.

get fornicating real.
better fighter
At 140 hatton, at welter cotto.

who is more accomplished at what?
They have diffierent styles that equally effective for each fighter.

Who takes more risks well, Hatton fought Zoo when Cotto was struggling with Torres are you seriously suggesting that Torres was more of a risk?

Hatton fought Mayweather, Cotto fought Margerito both lost badly. Both high risk fights.

Hatton is fighting Pac and Cotto fought mosely....

there aint much in it DG if you take the blinkers off.

Cotto beats hatton at welter and hatton beats cotto at 140 should he ever be able to make it.

Your hatred of hatton just blinds you to the facts mate Im afraid.

You crap on about all thes no hopers that hatton has fought as a champ, urango (who has turned out to be a more than decent fighter) they both fought maussa, both fought magg, hatton since being champ has CERTAINLY not had as easy a nights work as Alfonso frikken gomez nor the out of his depth Jennings.

There really isnt much in it .

No, but he will clock up the debates. There is no one really shouting out for the position if Hatton beats Pacquiao.

People are forgetting that Marquez, as fantastic a fighter he is, did lose Chris John and never avenged that loss. Chris John is undefeated but doesn't seem to be an in anyones top 20.

Who else are the contenders? Mosley - lost 3 fights ago to a fighter who lost 2 fights ago? Hopkins (semi retired), Vasquez (half blind), Williams, Caballero, Darchinyan, Calderon, Pavlik

Most of them have suffered in their fairly recent past, as has Hatton. If Hatton wins, then I think at worst he is at #3 - Marquez and Hopkns being #1 and #2.

Let's be real. Mosley and Hopkins are far better boxers than Hatton.

This 'P4P' thing started coming into the fray around the time Toney, Whitaker and Jones Jr were tops at the same time, and McClellan.

Actually, Jones Jr was in the magazine top-10 in '92, before he'd fought anyone. Back then it was based on who the Americans thought was the best, subjectively. Because that's all it really is, subjective. If Mayweather fought Klitschko, he'd be knocked out by the first jab landed.

What does it mean exactly?

What about

Hopkins (28 title fights) - Calzaghe (arguably won), Pavlik, Tarver, Winky
Mosley (20 world title fights) - Delahoya, Margarito, Cotto (arguably won), Vargas, Collazo, Mayorga

Then what about the Wlad/Haye winner?? What about Darchinyan??

How can a LWW beating blown up FWs/LWs and old men superseed these achievements?

Remember Morales wasn't barely P4P top10 when he beat Pacquaio at 130 which is Pacs better weight

Mosley shut out Collazo who arguably beat Hatton, not because of size but because of skill, Hatton reportedly weighed more than Collazo on fight night and P4P is about ability relative weight.

Does that answer you question?

Name me 1 undefeated puncher than Hattoin has fought.

Pinto and Torres for Cotto I think.

So he fought KT and won? SO dod Vince Ohilips and in bette fashion nand against a better version of KT.

Fighting 2 past it name fighters means NOT MUCH!

Hatton had he chance to fight Cotto but he did nnot want it.

Cotto is the better FIGHTER.

Haton handpicks fighters all the time.

Hand pick a PUNCHER who is proven at 140 and/or 147.

Cotto having Mosley - Margarito ( loss) Judah - Quintanta means much more than anything Hatton has done.

They were all live when Cotto fought them...

Hatton fought past it fighters - wa KT or Castillo anywhere near their best?

No No No!

as said no one was saying castillo or kostya were shot prior so why say it now.
You ae getting a bit desperate arent you? Quoting pinto as an unbeaten slugger, I mean fighting a load of south american tomato cans then cotto then disappearing off the face of the earth doesnt exactly add much gravitas to your argument, nor does getting kd'd by torres 3 times and nearly stopped when hatton was taking out Zoo.

Quoting Judah, kind of negates your argument as he was a shell of the fighter he once was by the time cotto got to him and cotto still struggled at times with Zab.

Cottos best win by a mile is mosley (thought he lost) Hatton is Zoo at present.

Not really much in it is there?

we will just have to agree to disagree DG.

Which is fine. :TU:

He then lost to Cotto (who lost to Margarito) and was a second away on most peoples card from losing to Mayorga. Not P4P form.

this is the whole point p4p is so subjective you can argue til you are blue in the face and still come up with different conclusions, all you can argue is whther its a close call or not really in my humble opinion.

I always said Castillo was shot leading up to Hatton..But I hope Castillo would beat Hatton.

SSM would destroy Hatton aso would Qunitanta - Matgarito - Clottey - even Judah would be too fast and powerful ( he would need less than rounds)..

Yes, we will have to disagree - it just makes me laugh how Hatton NEVER fights anyone HOT to earn the right - he just wants to poach the p4p against lighter fighters.

Sorry, but that is not my idea of a fighter.

He might be a great lad bt as a fighter, he is good but not elite.. not at all!

so he never fought mayweather :witzend: :o was he not hot then? kinell.

who had also been operating at a higher weight?

Hatton is not linear enough to make it at welterwifght its not to do with how heavy he is, he simply doesnt have the frame for it.

he never fought zoo when everyone thougth he was gonna get kalined in two rounds.....come on mate be fair.

And now he is fighting pac who just destroyed oscar (whom everyone now is so wise about being shot) these arent easy fights mate, there people you can levy picking and choosing against but hatton I dont agree, anymore than I would if you said the same of Cotto.

I said he never fights anyone HOT to get in contention.. Lok at his record pre KT and Post KT.

He just fights less than stellar opposition to get the shot at the top boy.

Image

He is Pound for Pound DONE in this one!

Nothing prepared him for the skills on dosplay that night.

Its rare to see PBF knocks someones head back so often...I mean right back!

so we are going back to his record pre zoo now that is four years ago as a proof of what exactly?

So what are your views of Cotto fighting Jennings and Gomez then exactly?

or on the way up Branco, Bailey, martinez, Caballos?

hardly stellar is it?

I said Pre AND Post KT!

EXACTLY... KT was 4 years ago - what has he done since and against who?

Not much to be called P4P..

I just do not think Hatton ( like Calzaghe who is better all round anyway) fights THE live contenders - he fights smaller older past it fighters and anytime he does not he get hurt and strggles badly.. Urango and Collazo.

He did good against PM...I will give him that!

wellhe became a two weight champ, took on the p4p 1 and gamley lost.

Fought all the best contenders at his correct division beating other belt holders in the process and beat them easily and is now taking on the cutrent p4p number 1.

not bad if you ask me.

Has cotto been near a p4p number one?

no .

so pbf, and pac arent live, and nor was paulie at the time, urango has gone to consolidate himself as a top fighter at LW ???? kinell mate what do you want more blood?

silly argument.

hardly stellar is it?

If you fight SSM - Judah - Quintanta ( who many picked to beat him) and Margarito you can have some lower level fights..

Woud Hatton fight a big punching Bailey?

Those fighters are still better than Vilches Stephen smith and 95% of Hattons opponents - do you think Randall Bailey would have lost to anyone Hatton fought pre KT?

In fact - only PBF and MAYBE Collazo would have beaten Bailey out of Hattons opponents pre and post KT.

Bailey can HIT!

Beat ALL the belt holders at 140?
Cotto?
Witter?

He fought the WEAKEST he could find at LW and Welter to get a belt.
