Choose A Life - Part III...

Post by Goodnight, Irene »

For the final installment, you may choose any fighters' life, through any divison or timeframe, ever. Remember --- you must live their entire life, from cradle-to-grave.

All things considered, & having recently read his autobiography, I think I would like no fighters' life quite like Oscar De La Hoya's. There've certainly been men who've endured tougher times, & come away with a lot less, both in & out of the roped square.

I believe his actual birth-name is Muhammad Ali-Lite... :DD

95% of the talent, none of the wit or grace. Not exactly fat-free, though --- the way those trunks seemed to expand over the later years of his championship tenure & beyond :-?

Trinidad wouldn't be a bad choice. Live like a king in Puerto Rico, and then every few years emerge for a 10 million dollar payday. I could live like that.

How about Dempsey?

Lived through a great era of history. Didn't go to WWI, too old for WWII.

Hard times early in life but overcome them to be a loved former champion

Good call. A national darling after he retired. And had the
oppurtunity to relax and sit on his title for 3 years without
defending it.

I can think of fighters with characteristics I wish that I had, but I wouldn't want to be anybody else.
