khan v barrera weigh in

he looked fine to me and he just got naked to lose the 3oz. He didnt look dry or drawn but seemed quite health IMO. both fighters seem in good shape with Khan obviously looking more cut as this is his normal weight.

It was Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail, who said that he looked tired and drawn, as if he had been sweating off some pounds at the hotel that morning. He more or less said that the outcome of the fight could be seen in the shape Barrera was in, ie, not very good, in his opinion. He thought that Khan should win by a points or late stoppage, unless Barrera conected with Khan's chin.

He made out that Barrera was like Butterbean and had the stature of a 90 year old man

Having seen the video, Barrera, whilst not really toned or muscular, looks in good shape and he did'nt look draw, tired or apprehensive, which was another thing that Jeff Powell said. Having thought about it some more, i have known Jeff Powell to speak scrap in the past, so it should have been no suprise, but when i read his coments, i had'nt seen the weight-in.

I'm just worried that Barrera will be chasing Khan, not catch him and get picked off. I feel that is what will happen, although in the league, i have gone for a Barrera win by TKO 6th. Minus 3 for me then

Well, Barerra has always been a counter puncher so he wont be rushed. What I dont know is if Khan was affected mentally by the Prescott wipeout. The Fagan fight was one thing, but now he knows he is back in with a genuine puncher, will it affect his attitude and make him ultra cautious? Khan needs to be cautious, quick punches, in and out, in clusters. A good double jab is a must, target that scar tissue.

There might be a bit of a stand off early on.

I cant see Khan throwing too much caution to the wind. If he does, he's out.

Cheers Rob. Its clearly visible, and I would be very surprised if it doesnt open up during the contest. How much sparring has he been able to do with the cut. If he hasnt sparred much recently his timing could be way way off.

Know what you mean, but no way will Amir be taking punishment like Moore did, hope not anyways, more likely he loses by quick and painless KO.

Still, I reckon Amir pulls out the win in style. It's a tight rope walk though..
