Should've been a technical draw - that cut was awful.

I asked because McDermott got a cut from a clash of nappers and Elcock won.

Its British fights, both British title fights and non title fights.

This was a WBA/WBO sanctioned fight - so therefore different.

John Murray received a terrible cut in a WBC youth fight, that went to the cards - much to Murray's relief.

Have to say dodgy they didn't stop the fight before the 5th.

I don`t really see the big deal the commentators are making ..

A good name on his record, but he never wobbled an old featherweight ..

Showed nothing new we didn`t aleady know

I doubt it, he looked complelty shot and terribly slow, he is done as a world class fighter.

Before the fight I was predicting Barrera KO. I still think that would have been the case if he could have seen the punches, poor guy was fighting blind.

Bad cut is an understatement!

Sometimes I wonder why people don't pay more attention to the likes of Roach when they say "If Amir can't beat this guy, then he should quit"

I didn't listen, more out of hope that I wasn't going to see a way past it MAB fighting at a weight he has no business at...unfortunately thats what was on show.

Still, it was good to see Khan showing restraint and using his advantages well. When you are blessed with such natural ability and athleticism then don't make things harder than they need to be.

What now? Prescott?(for REAL redemption Mr Ian Darke 8) )
It won't have convinced everyone, but it will certainly have increased the lads confidence.

they've got a big crowd and a PPV fight, you can understand them giving a chance to stop the bleeding, but I am surprised that old duffer of a doctor didn't stop it the first time he looked. it was exaclty the same second time when he called it off.

think by reading the boxrec posters on here that the fight should have been stopped in the first or second round making this fight a technical draw???

im sure this happened with chavez de la hoya 1

the fight should have been stopped in either 1st or second rounds , forcing a draw but with de la hoya as the new star the fight went the rounds required to get him the tko

Not sure the defence was as improved as the commentating kept saying .. barrera fault through a stream of blood running into one eye .. interesting to see Khan hands coming down more in the 5th .. wasn`t that a righthander Barrera clipped him with?

Good ornamental win for Khan. I'll be even more impressed if he can carry this level of performance into battle against some of the top men indigenous to his weight class. But fair play to Amir for doing what he had to do in such style.

A cut wouldn't make his hands slower, His biggest problem was that he was too slow with his hands and feet to catch Khan with anything, and when he threw Khan just ducked out of the way. MAB was hurt about a minute into the fight before the cut was serious, so he was getting rocked when he could still see. Lots of guys have won fights with cuts, its not an excuse for getting outclassed for five rounds. MAB is finished.
