fornicate Witter. Remember Zab Judah... :([/quote]

yeah and i remember how short notice it was when witter was forced to take the fight by warren.

Witter needs to build up a fan base(questionable if he can do so) and go to America. Make a name for himself. He's got the skills, just needs a stage to showcase them on and a decent opponent.

The trouble is, he does too much jumping. All around the ring.

This Harris fight has got to be next. If not then Cotto will fight for the title later in the year if/when he beats Pinto and the chance will be gone.

Stephen Smith and co weren't good enough, that's been the problem.

But saying that, if it comes off, and Hatton wins, Witter would be a great first defence for him.

Harris v Hatton - in Manchester - who do people see winning? Will Hatton get a big shock facing a genuine world class, hard hitting 140 pounder? Or will he finally deliver the goods?

Harris is such a step up for Hatton. I believe this is where the Hitman finds out his style won't overcome the elite.

Harris TKO 3.

Hatton UD 12

does not have the power to stop, but will be pumped up enough to take a decision in his hometown ( if not a hometown decision )

I think Hatton will step it up and win by a wide points verdict. His workrate is his greatest asset, and it's hard to win rounds against him. Hard to see a stoppage, but perhaps the best is yet to come from Hatton.

yeah, he's got to do what he did against Tackie and use that jab very well. Harris is good on th inside, and i fear for Ricky. It's a genuine 50-50 fight, my heart says Hatton but i got this image of Harris KOing Ricky in my head. It will be a war though....and we will finally find out how good Ricky is!

Harris will be very dangerous early, as he throws bombs, but I'm not too sure about his punch resistance. I could've sworn the light punching Urkal stung him a few times. He's been down and in trouble before I think, and his legs are pencil thin.....Hatton UD, or maybe late stopage

By the looks of things though, it just isn't going to happen. If there is no Showtime TV date, and Sky don't have any other dates, then according to what Mr Warren has said, it appears it is dead in the water.

Short of Hatton getting on a plane and going overseas on another more suitable date, I don't see it happening.

Harris is so much quicker and more dangerous than Tackie. What's more he only turns 26 next week.

Does a puncher like Harris need a granite chin to survive against Hatton? Ricky is not a banger and in any case would be forced into fighting a cagey fight against such a dangerous opponent.

It makes him the youngest fighter Hatton will face since Jon Thaxton in October 2000, also 26 (if it comes off).

PPV would be my solution to that. Throw Tito-Mayorga on as well, and hopefully that will replace the input that Showtime would of been putting in.

I don't think anyone will have any problem with Hatton-Harris/Tito-Mayorga s being value for money. Wouldn't surprise me if Calzaghe made an appearance on the card as well.

That's the worry, however, is he as tough as Tackie, probably not is my guess, I think Tackie is the most dogged man in the division, though he is certainly limited.

if he was chinny Hurtado would have put him to sleep....Hurtardo can BANG
he was floored by Jose Luis Juarez, Juarez had Lovemore Ndou down twice though so can obviously bang a bit himself

But Hurtado might of not landed anything of much note, Harris had him out of there quick. But yes, Hurtado can bagn, he floored Tszyu twice as well as the others you named.

Hope you're wrong James, and nothing is certain, but Sky will be showing the Tito fight that night ( I hope ) and it's an easy PPV for them - a sure fire winner in fact. I don't think Sky were refering to PPV dates when they mentioned limited fight dates.

25,000 fans ( paying huge prices at the MEN ) and good PPV figures - that's gotta be enough for Mr Warren to cover the expense isn't it?

And I doubt Harris is gonna be hugely expensive to get over ( helps that he sees it as an easy fight too ).
Even if Warren makes a slight loss, he's still in with a good chance of securing a major world champion for himself.

I just don't believe Ricky hits hard enough for the punch resistance of Harris to be an issue. Can Hatton jump in and out nicking rounds like he has done with inferior opposition? It's surely the only way he can win, but it's my prediction he gets KTFO trying to do it.

Maybe not, but Hatton hits harder than Ukal, that's for sure. And like adamiw says, Hurtado was never in the fight.
But yes, your call of an early win for Harris could well prove right. Hard to forget round 2 in the Magee fight....

Right, I wasn't sure who put him over. Anyone who floors Ndou is a serious hitter.

Nearly there now, lets hope the fight gets made, Ricky has signalled his intent, and is forcing Frank's hand. Good on him.

Won't Sky free up a date? What have they got on that date? Wouldn't they move the latest Big John McDermott comeback special for a Hatton-sized audience?

I think it's the MEN dates that Warren's having problems with. He can only do October 2nd...nothing else round that time cos it's fully booked.

Harris is a big lightwelter. The biggest Rickys going to have faced. He was easily throwing Urkal around when he got close. I really fancy Harris if this fight comes off. He's twice as fast as Tackie and can punch with either hand but especially the right and especially early on where he goes for an early KO. He could quite possibly be stronger than Ricky. This fight should motivate him to train harder than he's ever trained before. This fight is 60-40 for Harris imo. Harris doesn't mess about in there.
