Re: Enzo Calzaghe. . . . EXPOSED!!!

Spud, but Pryce, Rees and Enzo Maccarinelli - are not at an age when they can be considered "shot" or "fading". They've been exposed as champions, and surely not just come to the "end of the road".

Calzaghe, Jones Jnr, Barrera, Oscar - these are fighters - for various reasons - who have come to the end of the road.

Pryce, Rees and Enzo Mac have been exposed as more hype than substance.

Stu,

I would rather look at Enzo Calzaghes gym of fighters from a positive angle rather than the negative angle by using the word exposed.

Many many gyms would love to have in their lifetime the champions albeit some of them domestic champions that Calzaghe has had in his gym.

On the whole I think they have done fantastically well - some may say they have over achieved but nonetheless - they have done bloody well.

All of Enzo Mac's losses have come by KO. He's got a decent skillset, but can be outboxed by guys with fast hands. While Braithwaite caught him a few times, he never had the speed to catch Enzo unaware, despite the power.

I don't think he's been exposed, just found his level at european standard.

Post by belowthebelt »

So will Ola and Ramirez fight for the full title? The winner of that might be the weakest champion in boxing, no offense to them. Ola was being clearly beaten at the time of the stoppage and Ramirez only has one good win, and that was over a guy who was feasting on has beens.

SHOCK! Not!

His opponent sparred a lot with James Toney

If someone could get Toney over here I think he would beat Enzo Haye Harrison and whoover else he could fight.

What a stupid statement :witzend:
Pryce and Reese were fighting well above their natural weight class, and had great success there .. neither had things weighed heavilly in their favour to succeeed.
Price is probably a small welter .. Hall is a small middle, with a great punch!

The punch that ko`ed enzo was a nasty punch that prob would have laid most cruisers out .. he just fought a better fighter.

wouldn't go as far to say exposed think hes punched above his weight in terms of acheivements for his fighters but what a terrible cornerman he is. Think instead of slapping the big man tonight he should have slowed him down getting him to fight at distance wasn'ty the type of fight to have big mac trading.

If I was anything to do with Afolabi's camp I'd get him in a learning fight that he can win to improve his skills in fights where he trains to win and isn't brought in to lose before he has his title shot. Really good result for the kid and shows that the build them up with padding issue doesn't work.

I have a feeling Mr W arren will not be too dissapointed with tonights results - with the emergence of Calzaghe Promotions in my opinion it was only going to be a matter of time before Calzaghe's fighters joined that camp - it is also my opinion Mr W arren may say now you are welcome to Maccarinelli and Pryce - ahhh the benefit of hindsight !!! :o

pryce has been so up and down in his career.

other times he's been dump.

well surprised he got smacked out by a relative no mark like hall.

Big Enzo's defense let him down tonight, sure his chin is vunerable, thats even more reason to keep your hands up and tuck your chin, disapointed as I like Big E.

Pryce thought he was too slick when he really wasnt and paid the price, no pun intended. Hall looked mighty good doing it though

macca did not look focused in that fight.. I think he spoke truth post-fight when he said he had underestimated him.. but the writing was on the wall from the first time his legs went and towards the end he didn't seem to have any steam left. Where to now?

They said during commentary Ola would stay in England if he won....me thinks someone has options/interests in Afolabi.
