A double world title bill in Las Vegas on September 4 sees undisputed welterweight champion Cory Spinks defend against Mexico's washed-up Miguel Angel Gonzalez - a man who has boxed seven times in five years since being hammered by Kostya Tszyu in 10 rounds.
And Lamon Brewster defends his WBO heavyweight crown against Kali Meehan of Australia - a man Danny Williams blew out in 32 seconds in June 2001.
"This is as exciting as it gets," says legendary promoter Don King. Tickets, priced at $500, $300, $200, $100 and $40, are on sale now and Showtime will televise.
Don King is the greatest con man the world has ever seen. This event is naff.

Without a doubt one of the worst we've seen ( and that's saying something ) It's probably backed up with 5 cruiserweight fights too.

I'd pay good money to avoid seeing it.

Can't see a big crowd for this one. Spinks is hardly the fans favourite, and who the fornicate is going to turn out to watch Kali Meehan.

This is a piss poor card, and certainly doesn't warrant a PPV.

Thats just silly...... how would he know my address from reading an insult of him on this forum. And you must confess the fighters in his stable can be a bit protected. We just had Ricky Hatton admit it.

Yeah, Miguel Angel Gonzalez is shot!

That beating he got from King Kostya was hard to watch, Gonzalez should have retired right after that fight

Yeah that was bad. The undercard fight was great though between Jon Thaxton and Emanuel Augustus, that was some fight!

The undercard for the Vitali Klitschko-Sanders fight was pretty piss poor. Can't remember a single fight.

Nope, that was a regular Universum card in Germany. In Scandinavia they showed dane Ahmed Kaddour and a fight with Navarro. On the german broadcast they showed HL of Taras Bidenkos fight.

Don't write of Miguel Angel Gonzalez yet, sure he took a beating by Tszyu, but that was Tszyu at his absolute best. Spoken to Corey's manager about this one - although he is confident of a victory, he's says its not the best match out there for Corey (i.e. too big a risk for the reward he is getting).

Apparently, although he's been fighting low level opponents of late, been very impressive. I'm not saying its a great match, but I think its probably right for Corey who may be a little jaded after a tough year mentally and physically. Had 2 Superfights in which he had to put 1000% of focus on, remember what happend to Scott Harrison - he looked jaded when he fought Medina.

I think its probably best for Corey to take it a bit easier, but obviously not too easily cause Gonzales is still okay.

Also, whilst Meehan shouldn't be nowhere near a world title fight, Brewster is such a second rate fighter himself, it is actually a decent match up. Forget about the tite - and upset may happen here. Brewster has been exposed by second rate fighters in the past, so has Meehan.
