SKY are ridiculous- it's Khan at all costs with them!!!

Post by Jared Brasher »

You know, I really thought Khan answered alot of critics last night, but Sky really hype him up too much. I really think Khan can be a world champ, so my argument is NOT with how talented he is, but the last 2 fighters that Khans had to fight, were terribly badly injured.

Fagan broke his leg (and still got up to fight)- I only read about that this morning. I was wondering why a fighter as tough as Fagan was touted- split decisions sith Spadafora and split with Kimbrough and gone the distance with everyone, including Chavez Jr went down so easy- read his story here-
http://irish-boxing.com/stories/march09 ... njury.html but there was NOT ONE WORD about that last night when they were showing replays of Khan beating him. It makes a mockery out of Sky's comentators and their credibility, and shows that they will back Khan, as if their lives depended on it- even if the facts get in the way.

The last night, even though, as I said Khan was very, very good, they tried to downplay the kind of affect that a cut can have on a fighter. Barrera's head was split WIDE open and was clearly running into his eye, blinding him of course, but all the talk was how Khan demolished MAB. I understand that Khan means BIG MONEY to SKY and money talks but the commentators and analysists should get some balls and tell it they way it is.

I think that Khan's movement was really good and he is lightning quick, but these 2 examples (Fagan and Barrera) just mean that Khan was just a little lucky to be handed the cards he was dealt, on the given nights. He's still not been tested by a fighter who has not been badly injured. That can't go on for the rest of his career, so we'll soon see when he's in there with someone who can defend themselves properly without having the (very real) excuse of being injured.

Censorship and propaganda will sell to the less knowledgeable fans who believe everything they are told unfortunately.

I'm sick of sitting in the barbers listening to football fans telling me why Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan are the best there is, ever was, and ever will be.

I think the answer is they need your £15, so if they have to engage in a bit of subtle misdirection then they will. ok not so subtle.

Good point on the injuries.

Darkie, Glen and co don't seem to say it as it is anymore.

Because Sky are owned by a certain media group which specialise in sensationalism and feeding the public what they want the public to read/watch etc. :P

Khan did not demloish anyone and he was more marked up than MAB, MAB said he does not punch hard.

Demolish? no way!

Baqrrera was never ever hurt!

He was just slow and old and smaller.

1.Computer engineering: Bullsh1t would mess up the electronics.
2.Food services: Bullsh1t would be unhygienic.
3.Fragrances: Nobody would use bullsh1t for that.

Not close and no cookie

1. Maybe partly right on that 1, although were sold 1000s of technology gimics we don't need, so still plenty of BS
2. Never been to a fancy restaurant with all the BS fancy dancy meals? You could spend £200 and still be hungry, now thats BS
3. A product that costs £0.10 to manufacture retailing at £50 and trying to associate it with sex/beauty isn't BS?

Yeah, good points by most. I'm just sick of being tarred with the same brush as these "casual" fans who will just watch boxing for a party and a few drinks and then for SKY to try pull the wool over our eyes with the rest of them, even though we know the score. Imagine not bringing attention to a broken leg of all things and pretending Khan did all that on his own. When I found out about Fagan's leg I watched it again and you could actually see when it happened. At least the MAB cut, it was more obvious, so they had to make some mention of that, but even still it was almost as if it didn't affect him.

Yeah, Buncey is the man. Actually, that's how I first heard of Fagan's broken leg (on his show). Then I researched it myself and found that link. It's incredible that he got up to fight. You can actually see him looking at his leg when he goes down that first time. Takes some courage to get up after somethign like that- Nigel Benn twisted his ankle and didn't fight on V Collins... BUT a broken fibula? That's crazy. And as if we need to question MAB's toughness- but it was obviously a terrible cut and one that no matter who you are, its got to affect terribly.

I've downloaded a couple of pictures of the cut so if anyone starts trying to argue with me of how wonderful amir is and didn't he do well I flash them...so far it's worked in shutting them up. But that's the thing. The casual fan will have read the papers and think Khan battered him for 5 rounds which is an outright lie.
