Khan (MEN) Undercard- FULL SPOLIERS!

Post by whicker »

Whoa! Overload, just got back to the show.

WHAT a nights boxing.

Here is a rundown of the results, in reverse order-

Bell V Al Hamidi close, with Al H catching him with good face shots, and finishing 58-56 to Bell. I had Al H winning.

Lyons V New guy (sorry, can't recall his name)- 40-36, decent little fight, result seems fair.

Liam Smith v Mcally (?) 40-36, Smith looking sharp.

Paul Smith V Tunisian- very limited opponent, really- two genuine knockdowns in round 2 followed by what look like a slip, ref started a count then stopped it on three knockdown rule. Great finishing shots from Paul.

Vassel V Corcoran- Exactly the sort of matchmaking that should ebon undercards- Vaseel dominated, caught him with a good shot round 6 and the ref stopped it after a flurry.

Crolla V Carl Allen- Pointless fight. Crolla soon to fight for a British title gets a bit of 60-54 sparring, Allen fight 101 and a cheque.

Tobias V Mendy- decent opener- started BANG ON 5-30, so virtually no-one saw the start, 39-38 I think.

But yeah, add the four other fights on the bill, a great night's boxing.

Sharp. His opponet was game, too- I think something like 4-4 now, so not a journeyman/pushover.

Smith looked stronger and fitter, too.

didnt see this fight myself but spoke to alot of people who did and they all seemed to say that vassell v corcoran was very evenly matched until corcoran ran out of gas, possibly a bit of an early stoppage to, did anyone else see it? and what were your takings on the fight?

Hard to say for sure from where I was sitting, but I had Vassell up by a few rounds, although yeah, Corcoran did look decent too and was certainly giving a good fight up until the stoppage- which was a bit of a surprise.

Vassell caught him flush, and Corcoran went back onto the ropes, Vassell threw a flurry and it was over. Hard to say if it was early.
