I doubt if he'll even fight Katsidis
Re: Has he really improved
That statement is probably true , Kasidas is wild can take a punch , loves a brawl , has a ton off guts and courage , has the heart to say fack you lets do it in a kamikazi sort off way , and might even walk through Khan .
On the other hand Kasidas is slower , no where near has skillful and talent wise very limited, has virtually no defence, he is really the sort off fella that at this stage Khan should be chewing up and spitting out , Khan should be making the Kasidas's off the world look stupid.
And the fact that we all know , THEY WON'T risk it is really just a admission that there taking the piss.

no it was clash of heads .even they showed a clip when they did an interview with MAB. even he said himself. i reakon the ref should have taken a few points of khan for that terrible insident.
I just cant wiat till he fights Romovou or a diaz .thats would ko the shit out of him. then everyone will see to weather khan can make it in world champ level.

It was Barrera who came up under Khan. The issue isn't whether Khan should have had points deducted (you have got to be crazy to think that), the issue is if and when the fight should have been stopped.

and it should have, the clash of heads occuered in round 1. it should be ruled a NC, that decision of letting conitue in round4 and stopping in round5 just doesn't make sense.

they had to stop it as mab had alot of blood pouring down him. i jsut cant belive that ppl think khan won it in a fair match.comparing himself to pacman and how he beat man like he did. no he didnt .more like MAB had one blind eye that he could not see through at the time. if mab had not had a cut he would have ko'd amir.
well like i said khan will get ko'd again when he faces someone decent.

Yes Khan was improved, tight guard, better movement, better range control and picked his punches far better. As for the 'he should have put him away', why would he when he was winning every second of every round without getting hit?
.
he held his hands much higher tucked em back in much quicker when he threw a punch.
Even my old man who uis very much a casual fan spotted this so I find it hard to believe that those supposed hardcore fans who post here, have either got pissed as farts and missed it or hate Khan they cant bring themselves to acknowledge it.

Hey I'll acknowledge it, but my god it's not hard to tuck your hands up when there's no pressure coming back. It was like watching him in sparring and talking about him improving - it's a moot point until he's tested.
Khan had a much smaller and much older fighter in front of him. The headclash was clearly accidental, but if Khan couldn't stop Barrera or even wobble him in the best part of five rounds while Barrera struggled with a lot of blood in one eye, then how is he going to compete at world level? Even in the fifth, Barrera looked more likely to hurt Khan than vice versa. I could argue that his improvements defensively have detracted from his offence - surely with the advantages in the fight Khan should have been better going forward?
I just simply think it's not possible to improve Khan to the point where he will be able to compete with a live puncher. He's got a very very poor chin. The one time Barrera landed Khan looked like his legs stiffened, and there was nothing in any of the shots.
Khan may have made a marginal defensive improvement, but you're a nuthugger to come on and bang on about that, when to me the fight raised more questions than it answered. Khan may win a Warren-negotiated WBO title against an unknown/faded opponent, but I genuinely believe that people are kidding themselves to think he's got anything to beat the top boys at lightweight.
Re: Has he really improved
yes khan did wobble from barerras left hook. he would have ko'd khan if he had NO cut. you wait till khan faces someone like guzman or Katidis .he will get the fuk ko'd out of him . or romovou to add to the mix. i dont think the win was fair. never mind khan will have what coming to him when he faces a rematch with prescott.for a world title. for the WBC and IBF titles which are vacant at the moment.i hope this fight goes ahead though.sharpei_louis wrote:Counter-puncher wrote:J wrote: I find it hard to believe that those supposed hardcore fans who post here, have either got pissed as farts and missed it or hate Khan they cant bring themselves to acknowledge it.

Should have been ruled a no contest.
At the end of the day Kahn looked good, but anyone whose ever actually boxed will tell you it's easy to look good when the other guy isn half blind, and if you've got blood running into your eye you can't see out of it. Ask any person whose boxed and been cut.
Kahn didn't bothing wrong, he looked sharp, but truthfully this fight ceased to be a fair contest after the cut. If it was Kahn with the cut, the fight would have been stopped earlier and ruled a no contest. I'm positive of that.
For me we still don't know if Kahn has improved his defense enough to reach the top level, because you can't train his chin.
Kahn dominated the fight, but like I said it ceased to be a fair fight after the first round, and should have been stopped then.
Is anyone actually denying that Barrera had problems seeing? Surely not, so if you know boxing and have spent time in the gym and ring, you'll know this win means little
Cheers

I don't really care about whether he could KO him or not to be honest. Kahn hasn't got world class power, but that doesn't mean he isn't a world class boxer.BABY BLUE wrote:yes this fight should have jsut got posponed to another date. when MAbs cut was healed.khan thinks he won that fight in a fair way. ? Barrera has a good chin as showed against Marquez and Pac, and I don't think anyone is saying Kahn hits harder than those two.
If there wasn't any cut and Kahn dominated him to a points win thats still a good win in my book.
The issue is the fight in reality only lasted a minute and a half.
Kahn has great speed and anyone is going to struggle with that. But the real improvement will be if he can avoid getting caught so often, because his chin will always be awful, so the question is can he find a way to work around that and this fight didn't tell us anything about that.
It's not Kahn's fault Barrera got cut, but he's talking like the cut didn't even affect the fight which it clearly did.

Yes, I do think Khan has improved under Roach, but the big question is still this: What happens when he gets hit on the chin by a proper LW or LWW? I think we all know the answer to that one.
No matter how good Roach or any other trainer in the world is, I cannot see how Khan's durability will improve. Granted, it may get better if he were to move up in weight, but that's the only way. Either you can hold a shot or you can't!
Guys like JMM, Juan Diaz, Edwin Valero would hurt Khan imo!

Sorry for calling you a nuthugger, clearly upset you - didn't mean to.
But to then go on about MY judgemental attitude is a bit rich after you basically criticising anyone refusing to comment on his hands tucking up quicker. I think your comments were a bit more judgemental than mine, and I gave my opinion as to why other people weren't talking about minor improvements Khan may or may not have made.

do you honestly think khan hasnt improved after spending time at the wildcard and mixing with pac and roach of course he has.
