The worst was thinking that Tyson would knock out Douglas easily

I remember us both sat in my front room spangled at some ridiculous hour, shouting for danny to stay down after the 55th kd. He really was far too brave for his own good that night.

Going for the favourite and getting it wrong, isn't terrible - cause lots of people did that.

I had £100 on Earl to beat Khan and in true Chambers style* I'd proceeded to tell numerous mates about the bet and then watched the fight with a roomful of them...... I'm still getting slaughtered for it now, especially by the ones who were thick enough to think I knew what I was on about and had also backed him

I could write a book on my 'Audley's gonna be Great' predictions.

I very nearly bet on this too (think I just didn't get chance or something), told people at work it was a 'great value bet'.

The VALUE word always give you a bit of a get out clause I think if the said boxer makes you look a complete tit, like Earl did on this occasion

On the other hand I made a lot of money on Hopkins beating Pavlik. I wasn't sure he'd do it, cause I thought the fight was 60/40 at best at the time, but when you see odds like 7-1 in those situations sometimes it's just too tempting to have a flutter for Value.

I did exactly the same thing. And if that wasn't embarassing enough i then told everyone who would listen not to watch the Prescott fight cos it was a total mismatch and he was a bum.

And last year i tipped Skelton to bring the World title home by wearing Chagaev down in about 9 or 10 rounds

That's not so ludicrous. Tyson was coming off a really bad defeat and the fight week was in turmoil, with threats of pull-outs, no-shows, and Tyson getting his face freshly tattooed. It had an "anything can happen" feel to it.

Klitschko v Austin, on the other hand....

Mario Veit to beat Joe Calzaghe (first fight). based entirely on him being massive, undefeated and Joe not in good form. I thought we would have another Klitchsko vs Hide scenerio.

Plus there seemed to be a run of momentum going against British boxers at the time, with our two biggest stars (Lewis and Naz) having just been beaten. Calzaghe carried a lot on his shoulders that night and responded appropriately.

I thought SRL was going to pulverise the supposedly 'shot' Tommy Hearns without breaking sweat.

I thought Tommy had reached the point of no return & SRL would just bolo punch him into oblivion!

It looks like SRL thought so too!!!

I was in Cardiff for it and the more I analysed the fight, the more I though Manfredo was tough and could stand up to Joe early on, losing every round but taking the fight into the later rounds. Then I thought Joe would have to go for the KO to impress the American audience and there was a possibility he may leave himself open for a fluke shot by Manfredo.

Okay, not sure mine are as bad as that but sticking a fiver on Lockett to stop Pavlik was pretty docile (though in my defence, it was an almost unloseable bet - I had £20 at 1/3 on Pavilk by stoppage and £5 at 5/1 on Lockett. Only a draw or Pavlin by points lost me money). The worst though had to be bottling all my predictions of Kell Brook's impending greatness and stick £20 on Kevin McIntyre by KO...

Sugar would have if he didn't have Correra in the corner. Hearns was in a bad way after the 5ht and took a few rounds to recover. If Leonard didn't load up, Hearns would have lost from 6-10 clearly on the rounds - is it stood they were close rounds anyway, and the fight was alot closer than people remember it.
