FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
Is Froch v Taylor confirmed on Itv 1 as it is listed in the boxrec schedule ?
Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
Not that I'm aware.
It sounded ominous when Jim Rosenthal said "good luck next month" to Froch on Saturday's show

I hope it is, but have not heard anything from Carl either way.
ITV are in the poo though. Sacking stars and axeing series left, right and centre.
Plus the fight is a 3am job when their figures for advertisers are rock bottom.

Well since ITV are not doing the "quiz" style money grabbing, late night shows - the might think of other strategies to get the ratings.
Chances are, it will be shown on delay.

I say Setanta is the best bet for showing it live, if its on at all. ITV can't afford it, Sky won't be too interested in showing it, so providing Setanta can afford it I'd imagine they'll show it.
It will be a very last minute deal when its announced.

Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
An advantage of that is that they get 2 shots at it (live and delayed) to fill plenty of time, plus they have barely any production costs, just a studio in London with a couple of pundits, who are probably under contract anyway. They could even do the commentary off TV, Eurosport style.G0mez wrote:I hope it is, but have not heard anything from Carl either way.

If I don't get to watch this fight live I will most probably vandalise a bus shelter in frustration.
Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
Me too, it would be a shambles for this NOT to be on tv.nobby_nobbins wrote:If I don't get to watch this fight live I will most probably vandalise a bus shelter in frustration.

Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
Give HennessySports a bit more time. From previous experience they tend to have a track record of announcing late, but at least it will have more substance when they do make it official.
It tests your patience, becuase us boxing fans want to know the score NOW, but it's better than being promised something then having the rug whipped from underneath you. Surely dealing with impatience is better than dealing with disappointment!?

I have and I'm gonna stake it on Froch-Taylor being live on British TV! Me Nad doesn't get much use anyway, so it won't be greatly missed
Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
it should be on TV, I dont think it will be on ITV to be honest but a good chance of Setanta having it.
It doesnt matter anyway, if your clever enough and you know the right sites you will be able to get the Showtime feed online![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

True but I hate watching streams, sometimes can be unreliable and usually not upto much picture quality. I think this will make it to tv, I'd say 99% it has to!?iwz678 wrote:it should be on TV, I dont think it will be on ITV to be honest but a good chance of Setanta having it.

Setanta is still my bet to pick it up.
Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
I'm sure the Buncemeister will be pushing for his Setanta buyer fella to go for it

All in good time - the nearer to the fight the cheaper it becomes.

Re: FROCH TAYLOR ITV1
I can't believe I am going to write this but here goes - I f*cking hope ITV do not secure the rights for this fight - as a boxing fan I would dearly love to see absolutely loads of boxing on our terrestrial channels however there is a "but" in this case!!!
ITV could not dig deep in the first place for Froch v Taylor - now they are being typical penny pinching w*nkers by securing this fight on the cheap and I sincerely hope Hennessy tells them to f*ck right off!!! - ITV know as Hennessy is not promoting the show and only has the UK TV rights - all the money any TV channel goes into the Hennessy Sports coffers rather than the pressure of paying for the show and all the expense that goes with it - it would not surpise me one little bit if they have planned things this way!!!
If they had we would have had a massive fight on our hands in the UK - but ITV spend their money on a lot of sh*t in my view and most of that is spoilt by endless amounts of b*llocks adverts!!!
Come on "Meaty Mick" tell ITV to f*ck off!!!

The Vernon Forrest fight has been pushed back a week or two so I read today.Terry D wrote:Jermain Taylor, Carl Froch and Vernon Forrest on the one card? Either someone picks this up, or people will die.
