Sorry when I looked back I didn't realise this thread had a second page, so somebody else picked up on it. I heard he'd been ill, but I don't think he died either.
Like stujones said I'm not saying you are wrong, because I am not 100% sure myself, but thats at least two of us that at the same thought when they saw it.

I never hear he was dead either i knew his character in the series of Auf Weidersien Pet but thats it. According to his website he's still seems to be with us.The Original Hurricane wrote:Sorry when I looked back I didn't realise this thread had a second page, so somebody else picked up on it. I wrote on the BBC drama forum asking about this "rumour". They said, that they have not heard anything of this and there is certainly no press realise (this is from a BBC employee and not a poster) on this news. They promised to make the relevant phone calls and announce more news.
I checked the thread two weeks ago, and no further developments.
The show is my fave of all time and I do regular internet checks to find out the latest news on it before this post, and I haven't seen anything.
Also, whilst a bit dated this is quite a useful link to some of the more recent news of Bomber.

Bit of useless info here regarding the late Ray Charles. His original stage name was Ray Charles Robinson, which he changed so as not to be confused with Sugar Ray Robinson (obviously). Years later, a child is born, and his parents name him Ray Leonard, after the legendary musician. Here endeth todays lesson.stujones wrote:As this is an off topic thread I thought I'd let you guys know of the sad news that the passing of music legend Ray Charles has just been announced.

This is very sad news I'm a huge Auf Wiedersehen Pet fan of which Pat played such a key role.
Rest in peace big man and thanks for the memories.
From yesterday-
Cancer claims life of actor Pat Roach
PAT Roach, the star of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet has died after losing a long battle against cancer.
The actor, 67, best known for his role as gentle giant Bomber in the hit 1980s TV series, died during the early hours, his biographer and family friend Shirley Thompson said.
Born in Birmingham, he first found fame as a wrestler, rising through the ranks to become British and European heavyweight champion.
Tributes last night flooded in for the star, who was revealed to be fighting cancer in January this year.
The cast and crew of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, currently filming a two-part special in Thailand, said: "We are completely heartbroken and our hearts and condolences go out to Pat’s family."
Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, writers of the show said: "He loved the show and being part of the team."
