One of the most exciting fighters of the modern era Arturo "Thunder" Gatti defends his WBC light-welterweight title against Leonard "The Lion" Dorin in Atlantic City on July 24. They're talking about this fight being as good as Gatti's fights with Micky Ward. But Dorin, I fear, will have too much for Gatti.

I had a little look today and noticed that Dorin is 2/1 with some bookies.

Yeah, this will be a cracker. Gatti really need to stick to his boxing here, Dorin may be able to out-slug him!

Is Dorin that good guys? I've not seen much of him

I'm fairly confident Gatti has enough in the tank to outpoint him over 12. Should be a good scrap but I'm expecting more of the Gatti we saw in with Branco thus fireworks from him will be kept to a minimum

Going for Gatti here, I do believe Gatti's record and Ward's record has made people think that Gatti is over-rated. I disagree, Gatti learned from his first fight with Ward and dominated him the second time, was on course for a repeat (a dominating victory) in the rubber untill injury cost him the use of one hand.

I think Gatti will be two fast for the Dorrin and will win on points.

Gatti's shot after the Ward fights. He doesn't brawl anymore either, McGirt will drill a gameplan into Gatti and he will stick to it.

Is that guess work that Gatti is shot (not saying he isn't because those fights were wars). However, I'm not sure is display against Branco is a sign of being shot. One problem though is injuries - both his last two fights he has suffered serious injuries, which is a worry.

i agree with adamw here.

Gatti has shown in his last couple fo fights he has excellent boxing skills. Dornin really only knows one way, straight forward slugging. I dont blame Gatti for looking to change his style since the Ward fights, theres no way he could have a prolonged or safe career fighting in the manner he was. exciting to watch but doesnt make for a long shelf life.

This wont be a repeat of the Ward bouts. they were the kind of things that cpme round every 20 years or so.

ill go for Gatti here, only just, simply dopwn to his ability to brawl or box
