Lightweight rankings.

Post by stujones »

Amir Khan has moved to #4 on Fight news' independent rankings (ahead of the man who smashed him in a round). However, what I think is most strange is I cannot see the name of Casamayor in ANY of the big four rankings. Whats going on there?

although i think Prescott would beat Khan 99times out of a 100

i think him beating Barrera does justify him being ranked above him

why doesnt he deserve that? you can say what you like about khan but he has fought the better ranked opponents. thus deserves to be ranked higher.
Barrera is 2-1 at Lightweight, how does he deserve to be ranked ahead of Prescott? His 2 wins came against Journeyman.

Now, I am a huge MAB fan and I haven't been one of these saying Barrera would have won etc if it wasn't for the cut - it was a NO contest in my eyes, we just don't know. However, there is no way Barrera deserves to be ranked at #5 at Lightweight - untill he beats someone substancial.

Sure I can see why some organisations might have him high, based on past achievements (with the organisation etc at lower weights). However, for an independent body to have him so high was a little bit rediculous.

Khan is not just above Prescott, but above Casamayor, 2 of the diaz's etc.

Those ranks a re a joke .i mean above Diazs both of them even casamoyor. OMg what is thw world coming to. Khan does not deserve to be above Diazs as he has not even fought any of them nor casamayor. ?

Actually, Juan Diaz who is 0-2 in his last two is ranked ahead of Khan. it is Julio and David who are below him.

I quite "like" their rankings, cause they are usually favourable of brits, but unfortunately - the Arthur/Cook situation shows their validity.
