Kevin Mitchell vs Stephen Foster, on April 18th?

I have heard that this fight is meant to be happening on April 18th, but the BBBofC hasn't mentioned it in their recent notices and neither is it mentioned on allegedly's site.

Is this fight just a myth?

I also want to add that Mitchell hasn't defended his title since he won it over a year ago. The BBBofC have got to give him a mandatory. What are they doing?

Dagenham's Kevin Mitchell looks to continue his rise up the greasy pole when he defends his British super-featherweight title against Salford's seasoned Stephen Foster Junior at the cavernous ExCel Arena in East London on April 18 (this fight is not yet confirmed).
Unbeaten Mitchell, 27-0 (20) and still only 24, has been out for a while (10 months, come fight night) with a troublesome knuckle injury. He loves a tear-up and can be a tad feisty and it adds up to a loose defence (and sore hands). He is a work in progress under trainer and former hard-hitting lightweight Paul Cook (father of Nicky) and the enforced lay-off, while driving Mitchell crazy, may have given Cook time to iron out a few defensive flaws.
"Mighty" Mitchell won the British title in his last London appearance in March last year with an impressive but hard-earned stoppage of established Leeds dangerman Carl "Ingemar" Johanneson. The quicker, sharper Londoner survived a rocky sixth round to slow Johanneson with body shots. Then he floored him in the ninth with head shots and opened up to force the stoppage . For me Mitchell proved he was a genuine world title prospect (in this climate of 'world' titles). He showed the same grit, strength and power to outlast dangerous Colombian southpaw Walter Estrada in five colourful rounds next time out in Atlantic City. Estrada once gave Scott Harrison a good scrap and went the full 10 rounds with Puerto Rican talent Roman Martinez, who challenges Nicky Cook for the WBO super-featherweight title on Saturday in Manchester.
Mitchell will know all about Foster, who was due to challenge Nicky for the same WBO title in December in London until Cook withdrew with illness. In 27 fights Foster has lost only to Derry Matthews and Alex Arthur, both on points in 12-rounders. He floored and nearly beat Arthur but Matthews boxed his ears off, although Steve, 28, was hampered from the early rounds by a nasty swelling on the forehead. Essentially, he met someone in "Dirty" Derry better than he is with the crust (I say that tongue-in-cheek). Foster is rough, tough, durable and quietly dangerous, one of those 'sleepers', a good first challenger for Mitchell.
The champion's speed, jab and stamina are enough to take him to the points, however.

watch for Mitchell to make slightly harder work of this than he probably should bearing in mind his talent relative to Foster. IMO. scruffy scrappy heads going in etc etc

Doesn't look like. I think originally it was planned that the Olympians would be fighting on this show as well, and the Belfast show would be later than May 8/9 which they would fight on as well.

I guess there is a possibility it could be happening in Belfast, or it might wait until the Olympians are back in action after May

I agree Steve can punch BUT Kevin hits harder I feel..I just think Kevins speed and power would show from the first min..Will be exciting while Steve's on his feet though..The both of these are never in a bad fight..
