When Bunce was asking Maloney the other week why Munroe wasn't getting a shot like Dunne, Frank's reply was interesting I thought in that he felt Dunne was basically being fed to the wolves here - they know he will get beaten and isn't world class and might as well a bit of cash. They want Munroe to win a title when he fights for one.

Looks like the Irish have picked the most beatable champion. Cordoba may have beaten Caballero, but Caballero did way better since their meeting. Cordoba also has the poor half of the WBA title, the "regular" title not the "super" one. if he wins, it would be hard to call him a world champ as that organisation already has a champ (Caballero), a unified champ at that (IBF, WBA).

Cordoba may be better than Dunne, but it might be right weight, right time, right place, you never know. Flashy, popular fighters like Dunne do often get the chances that less fancy, underrated guys like Munroe.

I believe Dunne has to chances in this fight slim and none and slim has just left the bar. Tell me it was a great move on saturday night after you see your man get his butt kicked. Rendall and myself will be at ringside to watch before i make up my mind on his next move with the rest of his team.

It'll be a great move regardless considering how much money he is making. Far better than fighting in front of 2000 in Barnsley. 8)

I don't see Dunne winning at all to be honest, I reckon he'll last longer than he did against Martinez but I expect him to be stopped. I don't see either him or Munroe being champions in this division with those nutters at the top.

I give Dunne a chance. Cordoba is a skillful operator no doubt but can be outworked, as he was during some rounds during his fight with the shorter Sidorenko.

I've gone for Cordoba on points at Befair, Dunne's defence has improved in recent fights but I fancy the champ to be a little bit too good for him because Cordoba is a very decent operator and although questions are going to be raised, he's the champ and U have more doubts about Dunne than him.

Yeah and that move for Munroe will be, try for the Dunne fight if he wins, back to fighting nobodies if Cordoba wins. Win or lose Dunne is showing guts and conviction in regards to his career, unlike some people.
Easy to throw around insults about Dunne getting his "butt kicked" sitting ringside afraid to put your boy in the mix.

Not really but boxing is like any other job is about earning the most money that why boxers box. In todays markets a fight needs a title to earn money.So if you are the best in your div. at british, europe or world is the managers and promoters job to earn his boxer the best money out there for the title he holds, So why paid the champion all of the money and have to sign away some of yours fighters wages. As long as Rendall keeps winning he will fight for a world title soon but when he does, he will be in a good place to get the best deal out there for him. And just a note to all you armchair managers if you were that good at handling fighters careers why not take up the job full time and stop playing at it.O but that way Frank W , Mick H, and myself are doing what we do and you lot are putting up post here and jerking of at the same time, Sorry chaps do not mean to upset you all but now and than some one has to tell you how it is in the real world.

Personally I think Frank cares for his fighters, you only have to see his face and hear the emotion in his voice when hs fighter wins/loses.

Ps, Fwank Warren might be the biggest promoter in the UK/Europe but in my book he serves up too much rubbish and fully warrants the FWANK title.

Fave Maloney moments:

1) Scott Harrison knocks out a brittle Sam Kebede in sorry excuse for world title fight. I think it was the first shot he landed, maybe the 2nd. Frank gets quizzed on the fight, on how easily the guy was stopped. "Well, nobody can take the power of Scott Harrison." Timed to comic perfection, though it wasn't supposed to be funny.

2) David haye throwing about 2 punches a round, in bold attempt to go 12 rds for the 1st time. vs Abdoul. Sky camera catch a glimpse of Maloney - cinema verite! - wearing an absolute "WTF?" look on his face.

FM develops good fighters, makes solid fights, and makes UK boxing that little bit more colourful.

Vazquez maybe the man but the guy hasn't fought since Marquez 3 and might be shopworn enough for someone to dethrone. Dunne wouldn't dethrone him though and i doubt he'll want to cash out vs Munroe.
