Define in detail what Enzo Macc being "mentally weak" means?

Post by FLINT ISLAND »

On the eve of David Haye V Enzo Maccarenelli at the weigh in Haye and Enzo stood face to face and looked in each others eyes.

After the weigh in Haye remarked that Enzo was "mentally weak"

I was curious to what he meant

The next night Enzo sprinted to the ring then he made a "mistake" and was blasted out inside 2 rounds.

Since then Enzo has once again been knocked out this time after a tough energy sapping fight in the 9th round he was laid out

After this recent loss once again I hear some people saying they believe Enzo to be "mentally weak"

Once again I am curious

Can anyone go into more detail of what is actually meant when the likes of Haye and others have said they think Enzo is "mentally weak"

Define what this means in regards to Enzo - would be much appriceated - I'm curious to know ??????????

Mentally weak mans he can not beat anyone with a chance of beating him.

He has to be the Favourite.....

Enzo is a front runner - he does not bend.......he breaks!

Front runner, on top fighter. He will look great bashing up inferior oppostion but when it's not all going his way or he feels it won't he becomes very vunerable.

It's a sympton of being built up without any stern tests along the way, your offensive skills improve but your intestinal fortitude doesn't get built up the along the way.

Can I suggest the mods ban Flint Island. He is going to make Enzo threads on a very regular basis, something he used to do all the time over at another board.

He is either a wind up merchant or a 10 year old who craves attention, or both.

Well, after the Haye fight all the talk seemed to be of him immediatly fighting for his title again- having been knocked out in 2 rounds defending it.

If he is under the impression that he is genuine world class, with world class power, then it must be getting harder for him to understand why he isn't bombing people out etc.

Maybe thats why he wonders why he was so tired- he wasn't mentally prepared, so didn't feel "right" going into that fight.

Very similar in some ways to Warren's cruiser from a few years back, Derek Angol. Like Enzo, Angol was used to banging people over and when the wily old veteran Tyrone Booze didn't fold he became intimidated, lost his snap and got stopped.

Yeah a couple of intresting points................

They may be some truth in Enzo being mentally weak, he has only ever been the under dog once in his career and credit to him having the balls to take the David Haye fight but I do feel that he did shit himself on the night and sprinted to the ring in panic. Once in the ring he was backing off from haye like he was scared. He fought scared against Haye. And in this fight when the other guy didnt crumble he crumbled. Maybe Enzo has some mental weakness. Although he had a tough fight with Domigueuz and didnt fold there. Domingueuz was bringing the fight too him but Enzo sucked it up and nailed him with a monster uppercut - Enzo can bang very hard depsite some people saying his power is overrated. Look at the way he KO'd Bruce Scott.

I think the two fights would love to see are

Haye V Enzo - rematch - unlikely to ever happen - but Enzo reckons he made a mistake so be intresting to see what would happen if they fought again because lighting dont strike twice -if Enzo believes he was just unlucky - then he should do much better in a reamtch.

Ola V Enzo - a fight that has a much more realistic chance of happening - lets see if Enzo folds again and becomes "mentlly weak" or wether he can redeem himself - he claimed Ola could only beat him that one time out of a million times - lets see if he can back up his words.

A rematch with Haye is pointless, regardless of whether Enzo made a mistake or not he couldn't take Hayes power. Haye was too fast and too powerful for him, the better man won, there's no shame in that but Enzo doesn't seem to be able to accept it.

Enzo was exhausted. I'd say it was physical, not mental.

Bit of both I'd say..I'd say when the going get's tough in fights for him now he'll have niggiling doubts in the back of his mind." Can I take this??" , " Can I do that??" Enzo ain't helping himself by staying with a trainer who didn't draft in 1 sparring partner for this fight!! I spoke i him after it and said he shouldn't stop he still has a bit to offer, I hope he does cos a fit and mentally right Enzo still has the chance of being the best cruiserweight in the world!! :TU:

I hope he does anyway..With regards to the David Haye comments I personally thought it went wrong when he started calling David out..The style is all wrong for Enzo and David is a class act!! Simple as that!!

I just think that enzo mac will always be mentaly scard for good .coz hes lost twice. hes not used to loosing. it will be hard road back for enzo if he continues. he will have to look for a new trainer etc.. im sure warren would have mensoned that to him though. i hope he does win some belt .nota micky mouse belt like khan has won.

He is no where near world class yet so who no's if he could be the best cruiser in the world. He has been found wanting at ola's level who himself is not world class. He looks too fagile to move forward anytime soon, but will see.

Ah, Flint - did you get kicked out from ESB finally?

Enzo M is "mentally weak" because he bottles it whenever he's uncertain. The biggest night of his career and he bricks it against Haye, folding mentally the instant he took a hard shot in the 2nd.

The biggest night of Haye's career? He gets knocked down then gets up to win by brutal KO.

Massive difference mentally speaking.

Nah I was banned for ages - but I'm back on now - the MODS allowed me to regain access to my account - they never shut my account down just blocked me from logging on.

Why did you get banned Fluxstuff?

I agree with that he looked knackered that last round but Afolabi came with a plan 2 tire him out and it worked
