Sunday 22nd - Boxing Special on FIVE

Post by David S »

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but tommorow there's a Boxing Special show on channel five!

It starts at 10.30am and is on for an hour. Apparently it's the Rogan - Skelton fight...

Its been mentioned a gazillion times already.

I wouldn't imagine that they will show Skelton/Rogan (they might but I really doubt it), the hour will be filled by the Olympians

They showed a two or three rounds each of the Olympians and a fair bit of Skelton/Rogan. I was surprised they went for Skelton/Rogan and presumed they would show the Olympians in full, but they didn.t

No interviews, entrances or anything just literally brief highlights and the result announcement.

Nick Halling did the voiceover introducing, while Ronald McIntosh and Spencer Oliver were commentating.

Not bad, but if you'd seen it live or on Sky Sports you missed absolutely nothing.

More importantly though, I wonder if this means Five maybe showing the Olympians live in the future at some point?

They've dropped/are dropping a lot of their late night US sports, if it gives way to Boxing then thats good I suppose.

It would be fantastic if they showed occassional live shows- mid week shows like Eurosport used to, for example, or anything really.
