Good Domestic fights this week!

Post by GlobalBox »

By good I mean I think they are entertaining bouts and will give us some good watching.

Gomez/Burns

My initial reaction was to fancy Burns quite strongly to win this one probably stoppage around the 8th but as it nears I find myself wondering about it a little more.

Both men struggle to make the weight and that may have a big part to play as both again like to go to the body and if anyone is struggling that may be the key.

Gomez is supposedly flying in the gym but we have heard that many times so who knows.

If Gomez can control himself a little he could make this very interesting but if he lets the hype boil overhim I can see him burning himself out, either way it surely cannot fail to be a cracker.

QUIGLEY/DODSON

Struggling to pick a winner here, The Dodson of a while back would be a good favourite but Quigley has some skills and this is a toughie to pick.

Any views on a couple of close ones guys

I read a while back that Gomez had a new conditioning regime and was making the weight quite comfortably these days.

Gomez has the power to finish Burns here. I've watched Ricky's last few fights because they've been on Sky and it's obvious that he's a really good Boxer but if Gomez has this new training regime, he could take the title.

Gomez is one of my favourite fighters and I'm obviously going to say I want Mikey to win but it should be a really good fight.

Who's promoting it?

Both are SN fighters but this should be a very good fight.

Gomez always sound very confident, I just can't see him winning even though I would love him too.

I hope Ricky wins, but it will be a tough fight alright, I'll go with Dodson but you never know with him blows hot and cold.

Funny thing is many said Gomez was shot before the Khan fight, yet he proved he was still very competetive. He isnt quite the fighter he was when he fought Arthur but he is still tough to beat. I think he can win this one and it should be a very good scrap.

Dodson isnt anywhere near the fighter he was but still competetive so I think he has a chance.

If he trains right and has the desire to win, hes a hard nut to crack.
