Just wondered if Lennox Lewis early fights against Jorge Dascala, Dan Murphy and Jean Maurice Chanet are worth a watch?

Yes, all thrilling affairs, especially the Murphy fight. Really worth waiting up for.

Very amusing - I gather now (after staying up) that you were joking.

That said it was amzing how much quicker Lewis was in those days. 1 bit of interesting commentary was when the guy (don't know who) commented on the ref "checking for horseshoes" in the boxers gloves :o

Also why did they put their gloves on in the ring and not before?

Also on the ESPN show at Hugh Hefner's house I think it was Teddy Atlas who said how Michael Buffer's (name? the ring announcer) hair matched his suit! He looked very smarmy complete with his whiter than white teeth.

Early in his career, when he scaled around 230ish, Lewis was a very different fighter, quite lean and lithe, rather than the hulking brute he was at the end.

Lewis was like shit off a shovel and was also very aggressive, his jab was always a force, but he followed it up with clusters of very hard fast shots, rather than the more predictable one-twos of his late career.

Sadly, his balance was pretty poor back then too, and tactically he wasn't as astute, he wasn't the complete package until physically he was already in decline.
