Funniest Press Boy nicknames for fighters?

We all know the press are sometimes a bunch of tosspots but sometimes they come out with funny nicknames.

I remember the US press calling

De La Hoya 'Chicken De La Hoya' for avoiding certain fighters..

Holyfield 'Evander the Evader' for the same reason..

Yep that's a serious problem at the minute. Boxing is still very popular but the papers pretty much turned their backs on it in the 90s.

Another problem is that a lot of so called boxing writers out there - the ones who write for the nationals in particular - don't know anything about boxing, they just do it because it's the job the paper has given them. They are basically football writers and just blag covering other sports. I know this because I've sat in the press section at ringside with some of them and they really don't know a left hook from a fish hook.

Only today Tom Hopkinson wrote in the People that Martin Rogan won the British title when he beat Matt Skelton. It was in fact the Commonwealth title and Danny Williams is still the British holder. Journos who can't even tell the difference between the British and Commonwealth titles shouldn't be writintg about the sport in my opinion.

Most of the paper boys do shit like that.

Gareth Davies is good, and obviously Sir John of Rawling and Big Bouncey, Bubbly Bunce (he sounds like bad blind date) know their onions back to front, side to side etc.

Mike Lewis is ok, if I have his name right.

Its when you see the chief football writer spouting shyte you just grimace. James Lawton irritates more than most.
