Now thats a massive step up in class for Eddie who looked pretty poor against Mullins - has he got a prayer?

When Eddie lost by TKO, how was that fight? was it a Cut etc?

I watched Gulyakevich take apart and win almost every round against the guy who knocked Johansson spark out. He's an awkward, tall bugger and looks to have the basic essentials. I have, however, never seen Hyland fight, so can't predict an outcome.

Ive heard that peters has some sort of contract with the national stadium whereby he is the only promoter who can stage pro fights there. So it may be out at the basketball arena.

Oh right. I think the last pro show there was Hyland show last April so is that a new contract? The basketball arena in Tallaght doesn't seem befitting of a European title fight but I suppose Damaen Kelly lost the Euro to Maludrottu in Andersonstown Leisire Centre so no complaints

I heard it but not sure how true it is , If it were not to be there is there any where else in dublin that would be able to host this event? Assuming the 02 is too big because the hylands are not a huge draw yet

Think you're right mate it'll probably be at the Basketball Arena. Shame as the Stadium would have been perfect for the occasion.

I'll be honest Martin he was taking a hammering and retired on his stool after 4 rounds.
He just couldn't get into that fight and didn't seem up for it.
Someone close to him said on another forum said this yesterday about it:

'talked to Eddie a while back about this and he told me that he had to drive for over four hours on the day of the fight and wasn't well but still took the fight against Mullin, he didn't have the preparation for the fight and needed to fight as they needed the cash.

He basically quit on his seat from exhaustion.'

Now I think Hyland probably proved he wasn't anywhere near his best for that, or else improved a huge amount because he went onto beat Kevin O'Hara(in a real close one). But even still this just seems levels above him.

I'm surprised by this really as I feel Eddie is the weakest of the 3 brothers and he's the one fighting for a European title.
Especially considering Gulyakevich is the strongest European champion from Bantamweight to Super-Feather(the 3 lads weight classes).

Any news with yourself ?, plans for next fight ?

Im out on the Marsh Moran Bill on the 17th of April, everything is going really well. I needed a serious kick up the arse, and i couldnt of got a batter one then in Dublin.. Feel the best iv felt for a few years..
