Foreman definetly got a lot slower as he got older, and speed is more important than mass even for Foreman, because that extra bulk isn't doing much if it isn't being accelerated into the punch.
Speed is definetly a killer in terms of catching your foe unawares, that's why Don Curry was so devastating in his early career, the shots came at a speed and from an angle that left his opponents no chance to get out of the way.
I think he also got less flexible and basically became an arm puncher in his second career, it's just that when you have arms like Foreman's, then you can still whack pretty hard.
