Naseem Hamed! He'd not only batter everyone, but he'd humiliate them in doing so.

...and ali would talk them out of hurting you.

legit? i'd say marciano, as he was tough and had so much practice at alley fighting during his professional matches.

for sheer strength.....foreman, who'd throw them into the NEXT alley.

Tyson...everytime he gets in a streetfight his opponents come out with a disfigured skull and Tyson only gets a fracture or two on his fist.

I don't think it would matter who had my back so long as I didn't have it myself. Because then I'd be two dimensional and when I was facing away from the guy(s) I was fighting they wouldn't see me and I could just go to the shops or something and get some cheese.

No, on second thoughts, I'd get a packet of chocolate hobnobs and a plate with dangermouse on it.

For a fighter from the past, I'd proabably go with Dempsey in a brawl; amoung current fighters--and certainly not an all time great--I'd go with Golota. Between his bashing all of our opponents in their nuts, and him being so much bigger than me, there's a really good chance nobody would be paying any attention to me at all

From lower weights, Ketchel's certainly a good pick, but I'd go with Greb.

Butterbean. Alright, he wouldn't be able to do much, but afterwards we could go and celebrate by eating KFC and beefburgers. :TU:

Tyson, who else can scare a 16+ stone fighter as much as he can.
And if we are talking middles also, how about Iran Barkley, he`d scare his own mother.

Scranton Assassin wrote:Na, Greb was a great fighter and I rank him alot higher than most. I rank him as the number 2 middleweight of all time. But he didn't hit very hard. He had only 50 kos in 263 wins. In a ring Greb would school ketchel but in a street fight Ketchel would destroy him.

How about Ketchel vrs. Hagler in a street fight who wins?
Never underestimate the potential of Greb's uppercut to the groin/headbutt combo in a streetfight! :D He could be pretty dirty he needed or wanted to...and had a rep for getting into lots of unpaid fights, too. (For sheer ferocity, how about Sandy Sadler? A little guy, sure, but mean as hell in a fight).

hmmm. Hagler-Ketchel? I sort of feel about that one the way that you do about Greb-Ketchel: MMH wins in the ring, but Ketchel with a possible edge on the street. Tough call though--both really tough guys.

There were these two tough guys when I was in high school and everybody wondered what would happen if they scuffled in the parking lot and sure enough it finally happened.

Went like this, they threw a few bombs, grabbed each other, went down and twisted and rolled all over the gravel. Boring as hell, proved a whole lot of nothing, except one could cuss and threaten the other better. One guy was a Golden Glove boxer, the other was nasty at Taekwondo. But none of that mattered. Disappointing to say the least. That's how things usually go.

You put Hagler and Ketchel in a street fight and they wind up in the gutter, eye gouging and cursing. No action, no fun, and no meaningful resolution. Only on TV or the movies do they stand up and slug away until a man falls. The cowboys always beat the bad guy up in the B westerns in stand up fights. Real life doesn't work that way, only a stupid person stands and takes a whooping, and Hagler and Ketchel, when it came to any type of scuffling, weren't stupid.

Wouldn't pick a headcase like Tyson or McCall b/c they are likely to just leave you and watch as you get the crap kicked out of you, or in McCall's case, start crying or something . . . .
I'd pick Ron Lyle. The guy was just a bad mutha _____(shut your mouth)

2nd place probably David Tua.
