who has the best jab in the game?....uk wise

Post by junior pepa seed »

Who out there has the best jab in the game........uk wise? A quality jab can make an easy night for the owner.....its a simple punch but if you have a good one you know the rest. Darren sutherland has a quality jab and froche has an okay one considering his hands are by his nuts most of the time....I m gonna go for haye or rhodes.

Colin Lynes has a beauty - he can do everything with it; control the pace, cut his opponent, set up the right hand, disrupt his opponent's rhythmn.

He certainly one of the most versatile and I would give him my vote for the best jab.

Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao would disagree with you - when Khan first landed to spar at the Wild Card both were mightily impressed with his jab.

During his six week tenure in Los Angeles, Khan, 18-1 (14), sparred with Manny Pacquiao and undefeated junior welterweight Dean Byrne. During those reportedly intense sessions Roach reckons he has found a new weapon to add to Khan’s arsenal.

“He’s got a beautiful jab; a better jab than [Oscar] De La Hoya,” claims Roach. “Jabs win world titles.”

“Khan has a great, great jab and it’s faster than Oscar’s and better than Oscar’s” “If Manny can deal with Khan’s jab he can deal with anybodies jab”.

I know new trainers often talk up their latest pupils but I don't think Roach is particularly guilty of this in the main.

Khan has quite a bit to work on in his game but the quickness and acuracy of his jab isn't amongst the areas that need improvement.

OK fair enough but he still does not know how the use his jab to the best of his ability yet, so that is the reason I dont think he is the best jabber in the UK. David Haye at the moment.

Hatton can not fully extend his arm so what kind of jab is that?

Domestically, Colin Lynes - a real solid, damaging weapon.

Lynes for me, problem with Colin though if its not on song - he stuggles.

I like the calls for Kel Brook also, its more than just a range finder - it is so solid.

Dean Francis' jab is a beaut also - its won him fights when the right hand doesn't work.
