Artur Palac
Re: Artur Palac
His dad, Ted Palac, is still coaching in Hamtramck.
Re: Artur Palac
From what I hear him and his brother David, after not making the olympic teams, gave up boxing and went to college. When I've asked Ted how they are doing he says they are doing well.

Re: Artur Palac
I will say this much... and this is no disrespect to Jeff whatsoever but I thought Arthur Palac was robbed of the decision against Jeff Lacy in the fight that put Jeff on the Olympic team...Arthur boxed his behind off that night, I was there live.
Re: Artur Palac
I think after he hung up his gloves, he decided to go into music and became a DJ. I have to do some research on that, and re-watch his fight against Lacy - I think I have it somewhere, but from memory - think Palac outboxed Lacy.

I wasn't there, but I've heard that comment from many people.ICEMAN JOHN SCULLY wrote:I will say this much... and this is no disrespect to Jeff whatsoever but I thought Arthur Palac was robbed of the decision against Jeff Lacy in the fight that put Jeff on the Olympic team...Arthur boxed his behind off that night, I was there live.

Re: Artur Palac
Both Palac boys were strong fighters. Emanuel Steward was quoted in ring magazine that Dave Palac was going to be one of his next champions. Artur was a dynamo in the amateurs. It seemed pretty blatant when he didn't get the decision with Jeff Lacy. That has always been the problem with the trials. At times the slots seem predetermined. Artur moved up to heavy for his last year of amateur fighting. Think both guys would have done well in the pros. All the politics can be very discouraging.
Think Palac Sr. was also a trainer at Kronk for many years. Go Hamtramck!
