Extrapolate Carbo? How are the sun readers meant to understand that one?

If the fight went on again the same thing would probably happen, similar syles, Khan seemed to have licence to jump in whenever he wanted so it's entirely possible.

That said for Khan's "dominance", for me Barrera never looked concerned, he's been in with far too high a grade of opponent before. Sure he was losing those rounds but he still looked capable of giving Khan a fight had he not been cut.

Barrera would probably fancy a rematch for the same reasons he took the first fight, but I can't see Khan's lot going for it now they have Barrera's scalp.

It should have been a no contest, end of... I cannot see King winning an appeal, rules are rules - just very incompetent officating.

Cannot fault what Khan did, cannot guess if Barrera would have caught him or anything - he might have, might not have... its a no contest.

Terry, I agree completely with what you say - even not taking into account Khan's frailties - or lack of firepower... it is impossible to say how Barrera would have boxed without the handicap. He might have boxed his brains of... he (Barrera) might have got his arse handed to him... we simply don't know. What Khan did for the preceeding 4 rounds he MIGHT not have done if Barrera wasn't handicapped.

Now if it was a punch that caused the damage, a case could be made.

i dont hate khan. the reason why im pissed is because MAB had to stop coz of the blood that was pouring from his head.
khan however is over hyped and still has not proven that he is world class. i just cant wait till he face a Funeka or a diaz .they would box the shit out of khan. this fight against Barerra has not proven anything. that khan is just an average figther.Until i see khan beating Romovou or a diaz then he has my full respect.

It is a recurring one. It takes time and effort to tip up to places looking the way I do. Abdul Rashid once openly congratulated me on having a haircut and shave within a week of one another. It was a proud moment. Although within 5-seconds my face was as hairy as a 1800's Mex-Tex shootout.

course he's overhyped, welcome to modern boxing!
what do you mean he still hasn't proven he's world class, he's 21 or 22 year old, cut the lad some slack.
Until he beats a Diaz or Funeka , he won't have your full respect....the poor lad, I'd struggle to sleep at night.
I think you DO detest Khan because I've seen enough of your rantings, the exact same things over and over again popping up in different threads as there were about 6 going before that fight, couple that with the fact you don't post with any sort of frequency about other topics to remotely compare.
I wonder when you come out with "You've got Khan , why do you need Naz back?", what your real motivations are.

It will be interesting the move King makes next. Does King want to go through Khan again, or does he just want to side step Khan and go for a ranking... cause whilst it is impossible to say how the fight would have transpired - there are small, physically, champions there - that might be available.

Well he has a point to argue here, Tuesday night Prizefighter, clash of heads, cut on forehead, not as big as Barrera's, ref/doctor stopped the fight the same round it occured. Why did Barrera have to fight nearly 5 rounds like that? Similar event occurs and the fight gets stopped.

And before anyone says yeah but he also had a cut eye, the doctor wasn't looking at that when he got called over, it was the blood pouring down his face that was a problem (not saying the eye wasn't an issue in his decision it just wasn't streaming out blood).

But it wasn't the same cut. The original cut didn't reopen.

Also, regarding Prizefighter, they let two boxers back in with terrible cuts. The only time they stopped it was when the guy had a second cut right across the middle of his head.

in the case of the khan barrera fight , if that happened any other time 99 times out of a 100 there would be a rematch.

the khan - barrera fight left me with so many unanswered questions. i know khan started off very fast and clearly won every round. but would he have won every round without the cut happening , would his pace have stayed the same.

the fact that the cut happened in the first means we learned nothing really. if the fight had been a few rounds in and khan had won every round then fair enough.

at this point after that fight , i cant say barrera is totally shot (due to the cut) it was only a one round beating (when barrera was not cut) not six or seven. i cant say khan has proven himself against a top name competitor because we only saw barrera for one proper round without the cut.

the only surspise is it has taken this long for king to speak out about it.

Cant say I share the outrage.

Yes, it probably should have been stopped a round or 2 before the 5th.

Yes, it probably should have been a no contest.

If Khan hadn't have been the home fighter, or Warren's flagship fighter, those outcomes would probably have played out.

The reason I'm not feeling the outrage is because it was a one sided battering from the 1st bell, MAB's obviously not got much left. He wasn't able to do a thing with Khan, getting outsped and lit up for his trouble, consistently.

I feel a little bad about a legend of the ring taking more punishment that he should have had to endure, but you could also look at those extra rounds as an opportunity to go for broke.

If MAB was having any success, I'd definitely have had more of a problem with the stoppage. He wasn't though, he was out of his depth, bigtime. Another reason I dont feel outraged is because any kind of recompense would lkely invlove a rematch and MAB definitely doesn't need the kind of beating he would end up taking.

I'm one of those who picked MAB to KO Khan, if so many of you feel this was an injustice, I should feel the same way, but I just dont. Khan's on the way up and MAB's more than on the way down, he's done, completely done. It happened and it sucks, but there's no reason to hoist it up in the air and scream 'travesty', it's just not worth it.

And to whoever it was that said the fight would definitely have gone the full 12, you're having a laugh, surely??

Its hard enough to get the top guys over here in the 1st place, especially ones in their prime  what happened with Barrera won`t help any. :(

Incidentally, if Barrera thought he had little chance of catching Khan then I’m sure a guy of his experience would have asked the ref to stop it because of the cut .. he was asked a few times

Barrera - like any Khan opponent, will have known to expect a quick flailing attack for the 1st 4-5rnds that looks good from the back of the hall, but actually is missing more than actually getting through .. and has has been repeated by quite a few opponents now .. Khan doesn`t carry much power when he does get through.
I really believe that Barrera had every confidence of catching Khan and stopping him .. sadly the cut was too deep and too early.

Should've been stopped in the 2nd, at the very latest. The thing that annoys me though, the Friday before the fight when Appleby was fighting, the referee stopped it stupidly early, but this one gets to go on for five rounds when Barrera develops a vagina on his forehead.

Be consistant, you twats.

I'm all for a rematch to be honest. I mean, why not? Even if MAB is badly shop worn, his camp clearly thinks he has a case to prove and it would be good to see Khan show off these 'tighter' skills against a guy who can actually see this time, and over more than 5 rounds perhaps too.

Get it on. :box:

Can see the point, but Barrera was fighting handicapped and it happend so early. If it had happend in the 3rd round and Khan won 2 rounds big with no damage to MAB then I would be inclined to agree - but we don't even know how badly shop worn Marco is... he was fighting blind.
