SCRAP IRON RYAN
SCRAP IRON RYAN
Just thought I would give him a mention. watched him on sky when I was a kid great entertainment. cant remember what he acheived anyone know.
Re: SCRAP IRON RYAN
He achieved British title and alot of excitement along the way
Re: SCRAP IRON RYAN
I remember watching as a lad when he got pole-axed by a young and largely unknown Jon Thaxton. It was a shock result at the time and really announced Thaxton's arrival on the scene.

Re: SCRAP IRON RYAN
I know 'scrap' put a picture on another thread of him, not quite as skinny as his boxing days.
In his career he could certainly whack though, he had one of the fights of the year against Oscar Palomino, in that one Ryan was decked twice in the 3rd (probably should of been stopped), but he came back to stop Palomino in the 8th.
He was a KO or be KO'd boxer, which is what excites the crowd.

Re: SCRAP IRON RYAN
Interestingly, He started Boxing at 24. His left elbow had been broken 4 times. But if ever a Kid wanted it He did,You use to have to watch He didnt do to much. We fell out after the Hale fight and split,we had this Flat where some of the Lads stayed before Fights. He wanted the Bed this Kid used and because He couldnt have it, He got the Hump with me. In later years He explained why He left to me. When I explained the other Kid was Paying for the Flat, He did actually Blush.

The Thaxton fight was a shocker...
A terrible knockout loss for Scrap Iron.
He is still doing the Taxi thing?
Very exciting fighter at his best. I think the Thaxton loss took a lot of of him.

One of my first boxing memories is of Ryan massacring Ross Hale. Loved Scrap Iron, a stiff breeze could knock him out but my god he was a monster puncher.
