I was suprised that Khan said Kotelnik. Kotelnik is not a bad fighter at all and made Witter look foolish at times.

To me to be the worse you cant have had a sucessfull defence and the title was won very luckly .

To be honest there is also fighter like Erdei who has a very poor rein as champ unconvincing and against very poor oposition.

But for the absolute worse i thing Santana just edges it from micheal bent

to me Gairy St Clair stands out from that list as better than the rest of them

Granted St Clair probably was better than most if not all of my list but i think he lost to Klassen in his very first defence also it was proven several times he just was not going to make it to the elite level he was always found wanting. Fringe contender in my view

fair play mate i think the difference between him and the rest is that St Clair actually had skills most of them make Clinton Woods look like Ray Robinson

I'm suprised Castillejo is on that list, he was(still is infact) quite a handy fighter who although was never good enough to beat the elite certainly wasn't a bad fighter.

M'Baye wasn't much cop really though was he? He won a title that Hatton vacated and was lucky(IMO) to hang onto it against Kotelnik and then he lost straight after that to Rees. But I still stand by Santana as my pick seeing how he "won" and "defended" his title against Norris and for certain I haven't seen a worse fighter to hold a "major" title in my lifetime.

They didn't even have a proper belt when he won it in Bolton. They had a WBO version with WBA taped over the front.

I wish I was making that up.

I did look at the list before i posted it and did think about Castillejo he was a solid euro champ a few years back. I think i kept him due because it was never really a proper world champion in my view. (Reminising about the days where there was only 1 champ)(damn my parents hadnt even met when the WBA and WBC split happened)

Admittedly not A-listers, but you can't say he NEVER beat a decent boxer. Even stepping down a level, Bruno dealt with the likes of Ekland, Ribalta, Ferguson very impressively. I remember Bruno-Ferguson being maligned as a mismatch after the KO1, but Ferguson took almost everyone the distance before and since.

Fair enough, the choice of the word decent was perhaps wrong. It just seemed with Bruno whenever he stepped up a level he got done. In both the Lewis and Witherspoon fights he was winning until it fell apart (Smith as well)

In his first defence he was scared to death before he got in the ring. Looking at his record the only win of any real note is against McCall, but that just my opinion.

Luis' defence was another DQ win over Norris, it hardly sets him apart, as a pedant yes he did make a defence, in the real world he was an awful champ. BM ran a photo on its front inside page ripping the piss out of his swan dive in fight II.
