Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Yes good stoppage and maybe Samuels should retire because he is in danger of becoming a bit of a yardstick. I think we all knew which way the fight was going, whether the stoppage was premature or not, but the ref was hovering for a while to stop it so maybe he was a bit too keen.
Is that John Rawling back again?

Yep, I would like to see Samuels retire.
Rawling and Woodhall commentating
Good fight coming up next I reckon.
I'm rooting for Gethin.

Samuels landed a punch on the wrong person ![[icon_knockout.gif] :KO:](./images/smilies/icon_knockout.gif)
Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Yep naughty swing at the ref after the stoppage.
Watson V Gethin is shaping up nicely though, as expected.

Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Groves looks a good one doesn't he, ref was far too jumpy in there though
Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Watson is bossing Gethin. Looks a good addition to the lightweight division.
Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Watson looks quality. Him v Murray will be intriguing.

He is performing well at range, and negating the work of Gethin by holding when in close. However, I think Murray would handle him easily.Finch wrote:Watson looks quality. Him v Murray will be intriguing.
Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
Well that suddenly got interesting at the end. 96-95 to Watson but Gethin nearly had him out of there at the end!

He looked impressive, but I worry about his chin. Travis Dickinson poleaxed him in the amateurs and then repeated the win on points

David Price coming up next.

Maybe he's got more in common with DH than we think then..could be a freak result though, the KO that is.chris s wrote:rhino222 wrote:groves looked good, lots of david haye in his style too....

Possibly could be a one off. Time will tell. Travis Dickinson will be a very good professional if he dedicates.MightyWarrior wrote:Maybe he's got more in common with DH than we think then..could be a freak result though, the KO that is.chris s wrote:rhino222 wrote:groves looked good, lots of david haye in his style too....

Christ, is it me or is Price's style almost a identical to Fury? It may just be the size and physique but they look very similar to me in how the throw punches, hold their hands etc
Re: Mersey Beatdown - *Spoilers*
I thought that too. Longer hair and he could be his twin brother. Cracking punch power, Ingleby was pretty badly hurt.
