Jack Johnson almost devoted an entire chapter in his 1927 autobiography with his fight with Pat Lester.
Bob Lawson was the"Negro" light heavyweight champion when he slugged Johnson in the nads and Johnson had to be carried back to his corner and later visted his personal physcian in Chicago for abdominal swelling as a result of the blow.
INMOP the loss to Battling Norfolk is suspect because I ve yet to see any tangible evidence they even fought other then hearsay and its listed as a loss here at boxrec.

Hank, the photo you want is in the Chicago Tribune, April 4, 1909 p. III/4. I don't have scanning capability here at the house, and I won't be back at the office for several days.

Many college libraries have the Tribune on microfilm, and most have ProQuest on-line.
