Duddy linked with Chavez Jr fight.

Post by Cannibal »

Bob Arum dropped his name as a next move for Chavez Jr along with Del La Hoya and Pacquiao. I think Manny will have bigger fish to fry after Hatton and DLH may not even fight again so I reckon a Duddy/Chavez match up is a good one and I could see it becoming an unofficial eliminator of sorts for one of the titles. With the two large fan bases as it should be a profitable fights as well.

I actually think it's a 50/50 fight, neither guy has exactly been wowing the crowds against mediocre opposition. I would probably make Chavez a slight favourite.

i have duddy for this but haven't seen Chavez last fight . I have duddys last b out and he looked good hes got a decent jab my only problem is that he didn't follow it up enough. I think duddy will overwhelm him.
How did Chavez look in his last on Saturday?

Definitely a 50/50 fight in my eyes. It would be really interesting to see the odds. This is a points victory for one of them.

Chavez was his usual self at the weekend in quite a bloodbath. Had the ability to control the fight but kept getting drawn into a brawl, everytime he looked to box on the backfoot some of the crowd would boo. His stamina looked fine but he never looked like stopping his game opponent who wasn't all bad and although much smaller, had a better jab than Chavez. Was a good close fight in the end.

Duddy wins in my opinion, he is basic but way too tough for Chavez who won't be able to resist a brawl, he'll see the final bell but will be the one conceding ground in the exchanges. Would be a cracking fight

My money is on De La Hoya happening though

How about another battle of the sons.

Chavez Jnr against Ronald Hearns..... Arum might fancy that with Hearns looking like he has a worst chin than his old man. Gutted about that really, Hearns has looked the business untill now.

I remember the Chavez camp feeling REALLY relieved to get out of the Fagan fight with a win, saying that they wouldn't take on another Irish man again in a hurry. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, Fagan asked for a rematch twice or three times, being turned down in all occassions. Obviously Chavez has grown alot in size since then, but Fagan gave him a great fight (mustn't have broken his leg in that one) :TU: :box: I think Chavez wins V Duddy, although it might be a long night for him. Interesting match.
