Shame he didnt get USA exposure in his prime.. i remember jst after the Lindell Holmes fight on ITV he said he wanted Nunn and Toney next but Bob Arum said we(Brit) were bored of Eubank now cos of the empty seats and he'd make Nunn nd Toney look bad on (USA)PPV and prevent future buys.. Holmes said he had been sparring w/ Toney and said James was slightly fresher and slightly craftier than Eubank so would edge him out , but that Eubank would give Nunn an 'interesting' fight..

Anyway that last fight of Eubanks against Thompson was a great performance in boxing ability imo.. great headmovement, great upperbody movement nd great infighting..

I remember the time Eubank seemed to run out of challengers at the end of 1992 and Benn was demanding £1,000,000 AFTER tax. He beat Giminez and Essett who were WBO 168 #1 and #2 at the time of Eubank-Watson II (before dissappearing from the rankings!).

That's when he wanted Toney or Nunn if they won their next fights. Ronnie Davies was begging him to move upto light-heavyweight.

It was always mentioned.. Virgil Hill was mentioned a few times.. if the stories are correct about Chris not eating for a week before 12st fights then he would have made a scarey lightheavy forced to get inside, use his strength nd skills properly..
