Fury calls out Price again

Post by scrap iron »

After telling him to get a "chin transplant", Fury has called Price out to face at the York Hall on 11 April before he flys out to America because he is worried that someone will knock out David before he does. It's hard to know if these quotes are actually coming from Tyson himself or HS, but it is certainly stoking things up. Although I still think it's a bit too early to see them in the ring together, it would be good if they are able to meet whilst they are both still unbeaten pros.

With Fury's mouth and the way Hayemaker like to match their fighters this might not be that far away.

No chance for April 11th though, just getting his name out there again

Fury just sounds like a jerk.

Looks like he is not fighting in the US now, though. Does that mean the Brit part of the show is being downgraded through lack of TV?

I don't know if he is a jerk, but I don't like the way he calls out fighters.

New week, same old shit. Fighter promoted by Hennessy Sports slags off a rival. Now I'm looking forward to the weekly soap opera that is the negotiations for Wlad v Haye, it's like the story of the lovers - will they or won't they get together?

Fury seemed a really nice guy when he made his debut, but since then all this whining about Price is getting annoying and he looks a bit of a fool-especially when his amateur stories just don't add up.

But seriously, if this keeps going for a year or two, and both fighters stay unbeaten it could be an absolutely MASSIVE fight and do huge business.

I really wish Hennessey Sports would learn from the mistakes made by Sports Network with Khan. Let his fists do the talking.

Both are quality talents who could go onto world level in today's division, I think Price looks better though. No chance of the fight happening until both are established

I think this is all the Henessey publicists being their usual pudendum like selves. But its already hyping a fight that will be massive down the line. At least it gives us a good reason to talk about our top prospects

Surely you must be talking about their diet and appetitie for a larger portion over there!

The interesting thing is Fury is still claiming he floored Price as an amateur and he has the video footage to prove it, but everybody else who claims to have seen the fight says no knockdown ever happened. Why doesn't Tyson or HS post a link on this forum? This is like when Craig Watson floored Amir Khan as an amateur and it seem to take two years until video footage appeared.

Even if Tyson did floor him no one would care because Tyson (or his team) are making him look like a Dioufy ( Idiot Fantasist).

The Watson footage was readily available at the time

They might be better off learning the lesson of themselves and Junior Witter/Ricky Hatton.

I know what you mean. I'd say he's naïve more than simple.

I have been at a few of his fights and the shots are so slow and impact free, even his vaunted uppercuts. First few times you give the guy the benefit, but it is becoming quite clear that the snap is not there in his shots.

As for pressers, why not release one letting people know, including the fighter, a) if John Murray will ever fight again b) who it will be against and c) if it will take place sometime this year.
bit harsh Terry....feels like he only beat Mcallister a couple months ago. Good domestic name that was.

Tyson has used the TV exposure as a good platform so far. A time is not far away at all though where he will come up against someone who can match his ability. Then we will se what he has.
At the moment, simple? no - but I think he is now becoming too vocal. I think it he was boxing guys with a similar level of ability, he would not be mouthing off quite so much. It's like shelling peas at the moment, easy fights come big claims. Let see what he has to say when he's matched well.
Of course one man disproves my theory completely that you can only go so far with the help of television before they don't want to know any more if you don't cut the mustard - and that's Audley Harrison.
I guess what I'm saying is - does Tyson really think he's as good as he says he does or, is he pulling some kind of Audley Harrison shite.

I think a fit domestic rival that keeps a tight guard and does the basics well enough, and there are at least 4 or 5, could give Tyson a good argument, a long way before he gets to this World title he's on about. But one thing's for sure he's going to be in some cracking TV dust ups, win or lose.

I would love to see a match up between Tyson and either Chris Burton of Darlington, or Sam Sexton next :TU: Let's get it 'awn!! :box: :box:

Fury is actully doing the right thing by constantly running his mouth. The more stupid stuff he says the more he gets in the paper, the more people here about him, and the bigger draw he becomes, hence more money. If you talked to him in private he is probably a nice guy.

David Hayes big mouth got him a shot at Wlad after only one fight at HW, so never undestimate the power of trash talk
