Quote From Tony Dodson
"One thing i have to say......i made it a great fight,i made the fight what it was, quigley had a great 30 seconds in the 12th round and a great 2nd round and weather you like it or not that was it,it was my night and even though iam not champion now it feels like iam,iam hopeing for the return but wether it happens is another thing ?i was part of history in liverpool the other night in a night that will be remembered not for him winning the belt but for the night i was robbed of it maybe robbed myself because it was my own fault i didnt see the round out quigley done what he had to to win .But sh.it happens and iam healthy and fit and willing to do it again and give you guys some more great nights i will be back and i aint going to give up after without doubt one of the greatest performances of my carear that is a statement to how good i have improved since i have gone with hayemaker and ADAM BOOTH see you soon guys" ,TONY DODSON
Well my opinion is that the right man won as he kept fighting until the fight was over and ko'd dodson. The fight is for the full 12rnds not 11.5 rnds. Harsh but true.

Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
I had Dodson ahead by a round going into the last. That cut was a shocker.
Teddy has a good point, the fight aint over til it`s over. I for one would love to see a rematch.

Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
Where is that from mate? what an ungracious man if he did say that. In fact I can't believe he did
Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
Tony wrote it, bottom of page 3 of the "Message to Tony Dodson" thread.
Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
I just think he is being a bit harsh on Quigley there.
Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
Quigley had it all stacked against him and rose to the occasion after limited experience
. He deserves the plaudits, but better yet, he's got the Lonsdale Belt.
Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
no fighter is gonna exept defeat cant blame dodson there, dodson drains himself too much & should fight at his naturall weight,or jack it in.
quigley would do him earlier now he knows he can do the 12,dodson done everything he could, didnt leave nothing in there,i cant see what he can capitalise on tbh.dodson has allready said magee would cut him to bits.i agree & think smith would spark him aswell, plus you've got some really tasty fighters coming through in the division.

Well thats certainly a lot different to what the BBC are reporting Dodson said after the fight...teddy007 wrote:"One thing i have to say......i made it a great fight,i made the fight what it was, quigley had a great 30 seconds in the 12th round and a great 2nd round and weather you like it or not that was it,it was my night and even though iam not champion now it feels like iam,iam hopeing for the return but wether it happens is another thing ?i was part of history in liverpool the other night in a night that will be remembered not for him winning the belt but for the night i was robbed of it maybe robbed myself because it was my own fault i didnt see the round out quigley done what he had to to win .But sh.it happens and iam healthy and fit and willing to do it again and give you guys some more great nights i will be back and i aint going to give up after without doubt one of the greatest performances of my carear that is a statement to how good i have improved since i have gone with hayemaker and ADAM BOOTH see you soon guys" ,TONY DODSON
"Look at my face, I have cuts left, right and centre - it's not good for my health," said Dodson.
"If I can't win a British title against a kid who has had 12 fights I'm not going to go much further am I?
"I've given fans great nights in Liverpool but at the minute I feel like I'm ready to hang my gloves up," added the 28-year-old former British champion.
To be fair, I thought Quigley was a class apart and although Dodson pushed him hard he effectively got beat by a middleweight. Absolutely cracking fight though and congratulations to both men.

Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
that was a hell of a fight.
felt a bit sorry for dodson in that he'd rebounded so well from that awful cut and being hurt.
then for it all to fall apart. :(
gotta be a rematch.

Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
the question is at what level the fight was fought at, yes, fantastic scrap...but...were we watching elite british class fighters, or a faded warrior against a decent prospect.
once again im not saying this is the case, but, quigleys next few results will confirm it.

"all those are just labels we know that boxing is boxing"
Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
Well, keeping personal opinion out of this, both men provided us lazy armchair fans with a great scrap.
I think though, that Tony needs to move up and that Quig needs to move down.
I shared a lift with Dodson when he was getting weighed in Nottingham for the Froch fight and he looked deathly thin at 12 stone - I think a move to Light heavy may breathe a bit more like into him yet and give him a bit more down the straight.

Quigley just made Tony look tight because he's flashier at the weight.

Re: Quote From Tony Dodson
Give Quigley his proper dues, you may of been winning the fight but you didn't actually win it... Quigley did.tony@dodson wrote:will you guys stop going on about light heavy i aint big enough and do super middle easy guys i was at 12st for 2 weeks b4 the fight and have no problem at all at makeing the weight so stop talking nonsence

cut prone due too tight skin.
could say that you run out of steam in the 12rd but then he caught you early proving his power??.
regardless best domestic dust up 4 a while, its the sort of billing british title fights need big arena's etc.
