Lets be honest though David, we don't need to "see" how the world picture pans out... Klitchsko/Chagaev/Valuev vs Rogan is a one sided pasting. I think even my granny would be able to see this.DavidPayne wrote:This is a nice little pause and take stock bout for Rogan, give the Irish a new look at him against a game fresh opponent with a pretty record and a Prizefighter angle.
From there, he can see how the all the world picture looks following the spring work-outs and perhaps look for a beatable name opponent.
How big a pay-day would Holyfield be in Ireland if Rogan has mobilised a fan-base over there, just for example.
Rogan might not need a title shot for a big pay-day.
I agree with you about a big pay day not even being a title fight. Yes, Holyfield in Ireland would sell - and could lead to bigger things - Holyfield has the "should have been a world champion" angle.
However, not sure how Sexton fits into this... not sure how he leads to Holyfield in anyway more than not fighting him... and a loss (which can happen) will mean bye bye Real Deal.
